We've all read the articles on how the NBA games are shown and millions are watching in China.

What about in Taiwan? Is the NBA shown over there as well? Is Yao getting the same kind of run in the Taiwanese papers?

    Any Taiwanese posters here?

    Just wondering.

You can always find reports about Yao in newspapers of Taiwan, such as China Times.

    Wrong forum?

It's about Yao. Yao plays for the Rockets.

How does that make it the wrong forum and who made you the forum chief of police?

From what I've seen, major Taiwanese newspapers usually dedicate one sports article to NBA per day, but when the Rockets play, one additional article especially on the Rocket's game is added.

Yao Ming highlights are sometimes shown on news when he plays well.

    -G'day-

Aaahh, this forum is TOTALLY correct for this topic. I am so sick and tired of those people who do nothing but tell others why their threads are wrong. To me, they are in the "wrong BBS when whey write nothing but that."

This is not to you though, Uprising. Because I know you actually do write meaningful stuff. Just to dump off my frustration to those people described as above.

What does searching Google have to do with CC.NET?

I was more interested in hearing from the actual people from China and Taiwan that visit this forum.

Why is it any concern of yours how curious I am about this? You don't have to bother to post in this thread if it bothers you so much (obviously it does).

Totally with you, bro. Some people just think they are too smart to see others posts. Well, why don't they just close their damn eyes and shut the hell up? You heard me, insider? Provide inside please, not useless junk.

Guys...a more serious reply to the question. They do show a few of Yao's games but I cannot know for sure when they are!! unless its on STAR (TNT Thursday game) or ESPN (friday nite). These chedules are printed on the days' TV listing for STAR and aESPN in the English newspapers - China Post and Taipie TImes.

The local channels show one NBA game on Sunday morning ( a saturday evening game either live or delayed live), and one on Thursday as well (a Wednesday nite game live) on Videoland.

I also think they sometimes show a Tuesday nite game (on MUCH TV). But I cannot know the schedule - they probably appear on the local language newspapers in Chinese- I cannot read or write Chinese, though I have now lived in Taipei for the last 5 years!!!

Any Taiwanese collegues can tell us if a Rockets game is coming live - I will find a reason to go late to office!!! Help Please.

I've watched YAO on taiwan major TV network. They showed a lot of clips from CNN, and YAO said that he'd like to go to TAIWAN after this season:)

Insider, I am tired of arguing and cursing, let's just stop. Here is my hand extended...

Timm, can you do a little research by asking some of your taiwanese colleagues for their opinion on Yao, and let us know afterward? I am very interested in knowing how Taiwanese perceive Yao --- a global star from the mainland.

no no, i mean I want to know how the PEOPLE/basketball fans think of Yao, not the translated media. All my chinese friends here in Utah told me they are very very proud of Yao Ming being from China and doing so well in the NBA. I heard that alot of Taiwanese people don't think they are Chinese due to some political reasons. I just want to find out if they give a damn about the "Chinese" star. Do they care and feel proud of Yao being a Chinese?
