RRU is right by my experience. Beer is allowed, can't be sold, and can't be in glass containers. It is a non issue for our size group. If this thread makes it an issue, then we will have the picnic at Valhalla on Rice campus with TABC bartenders...this is not an issue, and not the focus of the event.

btw: We will have a TABC bartender at the picnic no matter where it is...count on it you illegal kiddies.

    B,

it looks like I can get a number of community centers, via a rent-on-Saturday plan. The deal is that we need to pay the staff $30/hr and hire a security guard. These are OUTSTANDING courts on great parks and are just excellent. I'm going to try to find a sponsor to cover the security guard fee (anyone a legal security guard out there!!!), so am going to assume the players will pay a $3 fee for the court, which is less that UofH pays, right?

ps: Autrey Court is still an outside chance. Then all bets are off; it is Autrey/Valhalla and the Village for after game.

Doesn't bother me, HP, I strongly dislike beer anyway. I'm looking forward to that weekend, and will have fun.

Uprising, yes, it is a 7:30pm game on Saturday. it is the last *regular season* weekend game of the year. They are doing Fan Appreciation on this day to get us psyched for the playoff games.

send me an email for how many tickets, and I'll send you a paypal request.

    heyp -

I just found that my loving wife decided to give my Denver tickets to one of her business partners (I told her that I might not be using them before you posted this thread...). In other words, I will need a game ticket and I guess I will go ahead and get a food voucher too.

I saw you tell someone else that you would collect at the game, and that's fine with me if that's what you prefer. If you wind up with a paypal link, then I'll be happy to do that as well.

    thanks,

    RRU

    RRU,

awesome!! look forward to meeting you finally.

For tickets, you have to pay me now. Before in this thread, I was talking about food voucher only option. Sonny already has a ticket and was just trying to pay for for food.

Just email me, and I'll send a paypal payment request to you for $34 per ticket, with picnic included.

Tell me how many tickets you need, and make sure you use an email address that you moniter. If you have to change your cc.net email, please do that first.

Im in and so is "OneDayShe'llBeMrsRIET" (aka Jill)

Just a warning to all you guys at the pick up game:

Im both slow and uncoordinated. So when I take a shot, watch the backs of your heads. You really need to be talented to play with (or against) me.

Cmon people, if we get 50, HeyP has promised everyone a
free Connor Henry Car Freshener (pine or lemon scent)

cool, RIET is in..as the only Mad Yao Disease fan so far. ;)

btw: someone trace down Drewdog. He wants two tickets. I installed a spam filter on my server and his emails from 2 weeks ago got snared by it.

    Sonny, B...

I'm confused. Are we going to start another Houston Pick-up game thread in the Hangout for this.

We have the Rice outdoor court (for free), and still a possibility of Autry Courts (for probably $5 each), or Stude Park Community Center for $30/hour plus security guard.

I'd like to get a roll call (in a separate thread) of exactly how many people want to play enough to pay a fee for it. I was hoping someone else could take the initiative on that.

Please vote in Sonny's thread regarding Hoop-it-Up location and whether you are willing to pay for a nice, indoor court or just do Rice's outdoor court like we did in December.

Oh man...when I said food & game, I meant Rockets v. Sonics game. But I'll be interested in pumping a few dollars to watch you guys play.

I am getting confused though. Will this bbs game be before the picnic...or is it a serparate activity?
