I really liked him in Jerry McGuire...liked him in As Good As It Gets...thought he was ok in A Murder of Crows...haven't liked him in anything else...
I find that woman from the Glad commercials worse than KG. But now you can get the worst of both worlds since KG is doing a Glad commercial with her. Second most annoying person: Gilbert Gottfried. Anybody see that SNL sketch last week that had Chris Kattan dressed as Kathy Griffin? I thought it was sort of hilarious, which is kind of hard to believe watching SNL these days. The sketch was titled like "I'm a Celebrity: Who Farted?". Oh and Molly Shannon was better than Kathy Griffin on Seinfeld.
rm - i generally think molly shannon is pretty funny...she was flat out perfect in her role last night on Ed, I thought.
Griffin usually annoys the hell out of me, but the one funny thing I heard about her doing was pretending to come on to the guys in Hanson during the peak of Mmm-Bop. At an awards show, she asked the three of them, "Which one of you is coming home with me tonight?" The Hanson with the lazy eye got all offended and dragged his brothers away. Funny moment by an otherwise unfunny person.
Kathy Griffin may be annoying as hell, but she was smart enough (and ruthless enough) to win Celebrity Mole.
I liked him in " Men of Honor"..i thought he did a good job there. Kathy Griffin, Molly Shannon....Fran Drescher.....someone take em ALL out....I hate Griffin and Drscher for their voices and for the fact that they just plain out suck...and Shannon is the most unfunniest thing I have ever seen or heard...bar none. How did she get started in the first place? I guess you dont have to be funny to be on SNL anymore..
Well, if AB says she's cool, I would normally believe him. But Superstar was horrible, so I don't know what to think. outlaw, which one is which? I abhor the episode where her act is all about Jerry.
I think there is more than meets the eye with Molly Shannon -- Her conventional material is fairly blah, but I'd take her weird stuff over any of the Friends chicks or Debra Messing or Jeneane Garrafolo or Dharma and Greg Scientology Girl and so forth. Her early-term SNL sketches (early, more shaky and manic Mary Katherine Gallagher), mid-term SNL (off-tempo Dog Show, mildly-psychotic Meredith Viera) and even late-term SNL (slow-pitch Bad Woman Stand-up Comic, I forget her name) were as good as that show gets, sort of a less highbrow, more accessible Christopher Guest / Harry Shearer brand of art-comedy. I always thought she and Cheri Oteri and Ana Gasteyer were the most talented female crop in the show's history, by a mile. The starting 5 of Will Ferrell, Darrell Hammond and the three women was great. The show has slowly gone south (other than political satire eg. "strategery") after the Clinton years. But those guys were good in their prime, and Molly Shannon was key. She'll do something else someday. Tina Fey is great, Maya Rudolph is great, and Amy Poehler is pretty good now. But they don't dominate -- they don't have the writing (or the ripe topical targets) the 1997-1999 SNL'ers did. CBFC
oh oh oh...not even! Gilda Radner, Jane Curtin, Lorraine Newman... the newer day SNL people cant hold a candle to the first 2 lineups SNL hasnt been anywhere near funny since Dana Carvey and Phil Hartman left. just my opinion of course...
Did you know that Fran Drescher did p*rn when she was younger...with John Holmes, even? Anything that'll get her to shut up, I'm all for...
