i know hes 22, i know hes a "rookie", different country and language BUT.... as a 7 foot 6 guy, the tallest guy on the court,,when hes around the basket say about 1 foot away instead of trying to drop it in the basket "gracefully" i think yas has to learn how to just dunk it,,,he tends to miss alot of easy buckets i know its easier said than done,,,but so many times its just frustrating to see it just roll of the rim BTW you see MO T's reb/dunk in the fourth: Welcome Wilcox
Yeah, when Yao is not the tallest player on court, he gets rejected and dunks an airball. You know what I am talking about, right? So, he does need to dunk it when he IS the tallest.
Yeah, watching the game last night, it's fun when the mics actually pick up some of the on-court conversation. I remember on a couple of occasions, hearing in the 4th quarter, "Strong, Yao. Strong." Or "Take it up strong, Yao." It seems you gotta light a fire under his belly to really get him to go up strong. Like if someone from the other team dunks on him. You'll see him go strong the very next play and throw it down. I'd like to see Yao initiate that sort of play, rather than wait for the other team to strike first blood.
as much as i hear abt his lower body strength he sure does fall down way too often, i think in the span of 3 trips down the court in the 4th he fell all three times
Nah, as much as I love the Rockets, that bogus lane violation call adds fuel to my disenchantment with NBA officiating. I'm sorry, but that call -- BOTH of them for that matter -- was hogwash. Since I'm a fan and not a coach or a player, I don't have to risk a hefty fine to point out that the officials don't call a fair, accurate game, and they have no incentive to do so either.
AGREE!!! I cant wait till Yao gets strong enough to burst out of the huddle of people raping him in the low post and dunk on all those fools!!!!
Toast, I heard that as well. It was near the end of the fourth quarter, and Yao had just missed a fadeaway on the previous possession, so as Steve was bringing the ball up the court either the coach or the players were yelling "Yao, take it strong!"'on the upcoming possession. Yao tried to take it strong, but when he brought the ball down low, the Clippers grabbed at it, and he turned it over. That was cool to hear though.
