What are the chances Morey shops Beverley after the season?

Hopefully he doesn't. Bev is the heart and soul of this team.

 

Obviously, he'd be willing to include him in a trade to add another superstar just like anyone else on the team not named James Harden. That said, since Lin was so inconsistant this season we have to keep a dependable backup guard in case he plays like this again next year.

 

Depends on what we can get for him. He's been really great for us, but he's not untouchable. Same goes with everyone else on the team apart from Harden and possibly Parsons.

 

Props to Morey for locking this guy up with a tiny, multi-year, non-guaranteed contract. Same for Greg Smith and James Anderson.

I certainly hope not. We are set at the backup pg position for a long time. If he has to go to get us Dwight Howard or Aldridge, then I understand. But otherwise no way jose !

I'd say the chances of Beverley getting traded are just as good as anyone else not named James Harden. Morey wants a superstar, if giving up Beverley get's him a superstar that's what he'll do. Lin, Parsons, Asik, Beverley...no one is safe this summer.

 

I think there is zero chance of that because of his salary. Like Parsons, Beverley is locked up for the next 3 years for less than 1 million dollars. Plus he is a restricted free agent after that. Beverley is not going to be shopped anywhere.

Exactly, having a good rotation player locked up long term for less than a million per year is of great value to any team. It's very unlikely the Rockets trade Beverley. The only way Beverley gets traded is if another team demands Beverley to be included in a trade for a true superstar. But, I can't see them trading Beverley for any other reason.

Aaron Brooks perhaps? Is it possible thats the real reason Morey signed AB, in order to be a backup for next year after he trades Lin or Beverley (my guess is Beverley's stock is much higher than Lin's right now)

 

Beverley's a lot better than Lin is right now. Everyone who follows basketball saw how Lin stunk it up in Game 1. However, that also means that Morey is getting a lot less from trading Lin than he would Beverley.

 

who is to say lin doesn't finish game 2 with 15 points 8 rebounds and 6 assists? and most importantly a victory?

lin has had great games, good games and terrible games like every young player starting for the first time.

the last line I do agree. Because he has a good contract, they would want bev included in a deal over lin.

 

To get the most star players we can, we need every other contract to be really good, so players like Beverley and Parsons are great guys to have. Their contracts are amazing. Morey definitely wants to keep them I'm guessing, but at the same time I think he would package anyone but Harden if it meant getting Kevin Love or someone like that.
