He was thinking he had 30+ points and just got to the rim easily for the and-1. The problem was, everyone knew it was going to Lawson.
Golden State was just waltzing into the pain like it was nobody's business. If you're George Karl, you say: time to play one of my mobile, long 7 footers for some much needed interior D. Right? Wrong. Play 5'10 Ty Lawson at SG to match up with Klay Thompson. Slide in 6'7 Faried at C. Watch as Golden States' back court gets open layup after open layup. Watch as Faried loses a crucial rebound to Andrew Bogut. Excuse me while I throw myself off a bridge.
Like Harden, another guy who tried to draw a foul that is never going to be called in the final minutes instead of trying to make a basket?
George Karl needs to trust JaVale McGee and play him more down the stretch. Faried on Landry and McGee on Bogut to shore up the lane and control the glass. Edit: It also looks like Evan Fournier isn't ready for the playoffs.
LOL I like how jack falls over in relief after iggys shot bounced off the rim. he woulda never forgotten that 5 second violation if it went in
Why did people here fear so much about facing Gallo-less Nuggets? I said it before that Rockets had a 40% chance of winning. Without Gallo, looks like they are on the same tier as GSW and..............us.
If you like NBA basketball this place called the Oracle Arena has everything: Players trading long range jumpers, crazy shot making in the paint, an intense crowd, scrappy attitudes, and two jacked midgets painted orange.
What a fun game that was. Reminds me of 2007 when the Mavericks went to Oakland and got punked. The Warriors and their crowd REALLY bring it in April/May. They just have to get there.
Just saw bits and pieces of the 2nd half on re-run and had a few more thoughts: 1) Curry picked up his 4th foul with 9:33 left in the 3rd quarter. Most coaches would've insta-subbed him until the 4th quarter, but Mark Jackson trusted his player and left him in until 2:20 left in the 3rd. The Warriors were down by 8 at the time, and Jackson knew he had to have Curry to make a push. They proceeded to go on a run and tie the game with Curry in, and when he finally sat they were only down 4. Sure, they only made up 4 points, but if he benched him right when he picked up the foul, Denver could've easily pushed the lead to double digits. Wish more coaches would trust their players in these situations. 2) I got hyped hearing the fans chant "WAAARRR-IIIOOORS" over and over, and I'm not even a Warriors fan. They frequently play 'I Got 5 On It' during offensive posessions. That is all. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YyDqoLimejg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Damn it makes me even more angry now that the freaking Rockets didn't get the 6th seed when it was in our grasp...
And is that Liberace over there? No it's George Karl playing shirtless Twister with Tom Arnold. Curry is just ridiculous. I don't like the Warriors...I can't stand Mark Jackson...but Curry is a joy to watch.
