I ran it by bskball of baskball.com for a sec to see what he thought of it. He responded back later that he had a tremendous amount of respect for Clutch, but that that just can't be anything more than Hakeem joking and jesting around. His note in part: Hakeem has made it clear he'll play this year in Houston, and next year is next year. I expect he'll get a sign and trade deal if Houston doesn't want him, but with the poor development of Kelvin Cato there is a need for Hakeem this season. Rudy T has said repeatedly he would not trade Hakeem. I am not saying its not possible, but I do know that its not probable. ------------------
I'd trust Clutch (and DocRocket) long before I trusted bskball. At least Clutch can spell! ------------------
I'm not sure what you're refuting. The story says that Dream said we shouldn't assume that this is his last season and that he *might* play another season. That sounds like just what bskball has told you. What's the problem? He might go another season, he might not. ------------------ Rockets Draft Obligations Summary http://www.gaffordstudios.cjb.net/

I'm with Juan here. I don't see anything that says that the scoop Clutch got isn't true. It's their opinion that it's not true, but they change opinions often. ------------------ When you make an assumption, you make an ass out of yourself and umption. visit www.swirve.com
What I get from this is that we are taking Hakeem's comments seriously, while bskball.com thinks Dream was just joking around and that he did not mean anything by what he said. Don't know why Doc would report it, if he indeed was joking. There is a need for Olajuwon this season, which is why he doesn't expect a sign and trade to occur? I'm sure he's talking of then end of next season and the need for a Hakeem for 2001-2002, or else it doesn't make sense. What is he answering here, though? By "making it clear that he'll play next season" does he mean that Hakeem will refuse a trade or that he is willing to play out his contract (no retirement, then)? If it's the latter, we already knew it and doesn't really pertain to the argument. Yes, Rudy T. says he will not trade Hakeem because he feels it would not be loyal. If Hakeem wants it, why would he oppose to it? ------------------ Nederland 2002 Garnett a Rocket? Read our latest column at ClutchTown.com
Branded go to a Chicago fan site. You guys are the only pies besides Vancover who would not like to see Stevies team improve. It aint our fault you didnt take the right guy with the #1 pick.... ------------------ I'ma need more than 6 and a half rebounds a game from the PF
I've read Branded's posts on various message boards across the web. He's not against us, or wanting us not to improve. He has class. He deserves a right to post here just as much as everyone else does, and he was just trying to relay some information to us, which is what the BBS is for. Just because it isn't the information you want to hear and it may/may not be true doesn't mean it's time to slam the poster. ------------------ President of the Jason Collier police! This is the whole point of his post here; he want's an argument with me. I won't give it to him. Instead I invite him to start here on the ESPN Bulls board where some say the same thing (and others say Odom) and let the fight unravel from there: http://boards.go.com/cgi/espn/request.dll?MESSAGE&room=nba_chi&id=53163 ------------------
