Because we all know he hates the Rockets over something that happened 2 decades ago. Please get over it. He makes a lot of money to watch NBA games once a week and discuss them on National TV. Money should not be an issue for him even if he lost all his money due to gambling and hurting others when he was drunk. Shaq is right, he's a fool who got fooled. Learn from it and let it go. Instead he quit the NBA. What a loser with a loser mentality.
I think you're reading too much into what he says like a "23 year old". Stop being butt hurt. He doesn't like the team as is. So what? Jeebus. It's like he kicked your dog/kid/unicorn or something.
You know that on Charles' special on NBA TV, that aired during all star weekend, said very nice things about the rockets organization. He said that Les, Rudy, and Dream were the classiest and hardest working people that he ever had the pleasure to work with. He also credits Rudy for allowing him to retire on his own terms...take it for what it is i guess
Unicorn. And I'm not the one butthurt. Barkley is trolling the Rockets organization/fans because he got paid $9,000,000 for playing 20 games.
Why do you like Barkey so much? He isn't clutch, and never won anything. He was fat and lazy, and now he "Royce Whites" the Rockets every chance he gets on national TV. He is terrible person.
This is true. He's also mentioned before that he loved the city of Houston, and of course complemented the women in Houston as being very good looking. His beef has always been about the verbal agreement financially he thought he had with the Rockets front office and ownership (Les) his last year in Houston when he took the minimum to go get Scottie Pippen. Barkley has spoken up frequently in the past much more about his distain for Scottie than the Rockets organization in this case. In this case, Les, only being an owner for a couple of years coming off of two championships, probably made a mistake in either not honoring his agreement, or agreeing to it to begin with, but Charles should have been smart enough at the time to know that if its not in writing, it probably will not happen. -As for Charles comments the other night about the Rockets not being that young... ehh whatever, thats just Charles. He's right in a way because it does SEEM like guys like Harden, Lin, Asik, and Parsons have been around for much longer than they have mostly because of the success they had so early in their careers last year. Also when a player has been in the league for 3+ years I do agree that they probably wont take a huge leap forward in the future even though they could improve in the playoffs on a better team. Asik just isnt going to become Hakeem overnight next year, and Lin probably wont become CP3. More than likely those guys aren't going to get that much better like someone like say Anthony Davis might grow into next year. Anyways, thats probably the most I will ever break down anything Chuck says especially about Houston. Chuck is a comedian, and a respected former superstar player, but he's far from being a respected basketball analyst. Still people should listen more or less still for a good laugh, but not to disect the game.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Chuck called the Houston Rockets cheap <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23NBAPlayoffs">#NBAPlayoffs</a> - <a href="http://t.co/XM4FLLk5EF" title="http://snpy.tv/128AFo4">snpy.tv/128AFo4</a></p>— NBA on TNT (@NBAonTNT) <a href="https://twitter.com/NBAonTNT/status/326583869203705857">April 23, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
LOL that was hilarious. Its no joke the rockets & Les have been cheap as ****. They don't even pay market value for players. Hope Les gets the message.
Easy to say get over it when you aren't the one getting screwed out of 5 million by Rockets ownership. I don't care how rich you are, 5 million is still 5 million, and if they promised it to him and didn't follow through, he has every right to be upset with the organization.
Let's put this in perspective. Barkley has admitted to gambling away over $10 million and losing $2.5 million in under 6 hours playing blackjack. That's half the money he keeps crying about. He screwed himself. Always get it in writing, sucker. We talkin bout $5 million. I guess players won't be taking minor pay cuts to play for the Rockets this off-season.
He said even though the Rockets are the youngest team in the NBA, they aren't really young. Lol. Makes sense.
Believe it or not, but many people don't get agreements in writing... so much so that it'd amaze you. You'd be surprised at how many people still do business via a handshake, and sometimes its for astronomical amounts. But heck, I can't complain because stupidity like that fuels my profession.
Charles doesn't go out of his way to say positive things about his tenure with the Rockets. So I don't have a problem with Rocket's fans not going out of their way to say postive things about him during his tenure with the Rockets.
no wonder barkley dont really like the rockets... but barkley was one of my favorite players and thats why i started to like the rockets because of barkley, Hakeem, cylde....the big 3 first nba jersey...charles barkley #4
The reason you specifically don't like Barkley is that during the mcgrady Yao era he never picked the rockets to win a playoff series while other people were overhyping our team. Charles was right. No matter how many times you falsely blame Barkley for a loss in the western conference finals, which we might not see in the near future, he was right about the team. His poke against les might be justified. Rudy t, van Grundy, Rick, and maybe even mcgrady didn't leave on great terms.
