I agree with you on this. Talent level was just way off. Also McHale hasn't had the time to make adjustments. I have a little bit moer appreciation for McHale after seeing us getting waxed last night (still can't believe that happened). McHale just needs to adjust & I will be ok with him & support him for coming back next year. McHale did a few things I liked last night.

This is the bottom line; far superior team, home court, etc. The Rockets are playing probably the second best team in the NBA, maybe the best, we shall see. There is literally no margin for error. The ONLY chance the Rockets have is to play out of their minds every game all the time. You see what happens when they start turning in over, bricking shots, making mental mistakes: they get creamed. Not any one player's fault. Not the coaches' fault. It is what it is.

OKC was sending a message in there first game & our guys were nervous. I think we will play better in game 2 (still loose though) & will be way better at home (hopefully get at least one win).

A very solid post, as usual. Aside from a few moments here and there, everyone had an awful game, and as you point out, we have no margin for error. Just one thing I'd love to see our guards stop doing. OK, there's plenty more I'd love to see them do, or not do, but this is one of those that stands out. It wouldn't have won us the game, but it was a killer a time or two of whatever momentum we had at one point. Stop these wild showboat passes to Asik. He simply doesn't have the hands for it. He can't handle the catch. It embarrasses him, and it sure as hell should embarrass the guard who made the decision, when there were plenty of other options available. Jeremy Lin keeps doing it. James Harden still does it. What Asik needs are those very short little tosses to him in the post that hit him in the brisket. Even a very short bounce pass is something he can handle from time to time. That other fancy stuff? Save them for a player with the ability to catch and finish. Anyone ever see Parsons make those wild passes to Omer? No, you don't, because Chandler is smart enough to know Asik's limitations. Our guards should be smart enough as well.

    Game 4 is at 830.

It won't be played so we could have mercy on our lives.

Yes we got blown out but we were within 5 at one point. Took everything to get within 5.

Harden played poorly and so did lin and parsons didnt do much either.

So bad game for us and rightly so we would lose. We hung tough for 2 quarters unfortunately the game is 4 quarters lol.

Beverly looks good against westbrook. Westbrook is a hot head I could see beverly getting in his head. Im not as worried about when to play lin as that I want beverly on westbrook. Also lin provides us offense punch that beverly does not so who says we cant play lin and beverly at same time? We did it in game 1

We are playing 3 against 5, with Asic and Smith being our offensive liabilities. That makes the ability to score almost an impossible task against a good defensive team like the Thunder.

It is no accident that we played our best during the second with a small lineup and with Smith's arse glued to the bench.

Since we are at a severe disadvantage at the PF position, it is time to throw a monkey wrench at the Thunder by going small at the onset and throughout the game. Start Delfino or Garcia, and bring their bigs out of the paint (when we are on offense). Spread the floor with guys that can pass and shoot and I am fairly confident we could give them a better contest.

We would suffer on defense, but based on what transpired yesterday, I am not even sure if it would make that much of a difference defensively.

This small ball idea has been shared by other members as well, and I agree.

I think it's a matter of when they pass as opposed to how they pass. Parsons has thrown some lasers to Asik and they work perfectly fine because he expects it and he has the space to see it coming. A lot of the dropped passes from Lin and Harden were improvised when they realized they had no shot, or forced through heavy traffic.

As much as I love flaming McHale's coaching, the game wasn't lost on coach. It was the players. No coach were able to keep the game close the way we were playing 2nd half.

Call me crazy but I think the rockets will win at least 2 games. They will bounce back. Who played well yesterday??

Lin, Parsons, Asik and Harden can do better than this! They showed us that they've got enough talent to play and win.

I just don't know why some people are so pessimistic. This is a young team against maybe the best team in the league. They did not play their usual style but this is quite normal because for many players this is the first very important game in their life.

Let's hope McHale learns from this game and the main thing for me is: play the guys that do well, use Garcia for Rockets' sake because he's always money from three and is a veteran, use Jones more and maybe try D-Mo to stretch it out when Jones is off.
