Astros have a tendency to have a subpar season when they have a good preseason...or at least it seems that way. Certainly was the case last year.
Wohoo! Astros only 7-5 in Spring Training so far. Smells like the perfect set up for a good year. Not great, but not bad in the preseason versus great in preseason last year, dissapointing in regular season.
Everyone is saying Bagwell's shoulder is healthy and he has his power stroke back (2 HR's this spring) which is good news. I still worry about our starting pitching. After Oswalt and Miller, Reynolds has looked good so far, but will he hold up all season?
I'm curious to see if Jeriome Robertson is the real deal or not. He doesn't have electric stuff from what I have seen of him, but he continues to have very solid control and is able to get by on what he has. I can really appreciate a player like that, and I think, barring any ridiculously bad outing, that he has won the #5 spot over Timmah Redding and any other would be contenders. I don't know how Moehler's going to turn out, but if Shane can just pitch decently, I think we could have a pretty solid rotation.
