If I were to guess (and I am just guessing), I would say probably more. The creation of Pakistan split their homeland into two.

Looking to go to Turkey and Spain during Aug 13-29 time frame. Can ya'll help me out?

Cheapest I've found so far is $1300 multi-city flight. Is this my best way to go?

No. There's no difference between Indian Punjab and Pakistani Punjab except religion. What is noticeable is that Indians may say India and Pakistan is the same thing but Pakistanis will not say the name. I'm not saying everyone but its common. It's a shame Lahore is not in India, but a lot of politics on why that went to Pakistan. Nothing we can do about it now.

August is peak season in Western Europe especially Spain.

If you find something under $1200 I'd like to know.

Not exactly what you requested, but here's a start. Try building Madrid/Barcelona into that itinerary, using either Turkish Airlines or a low-cost carrier.

So I'm flying Turkish Airlines this weekend , and I have a 5 hour layover in Istanbul. Is that enough time to visit anything? I at least want to try out some Turkish food while I'm there. Any tips?
