    I believe he was the first commentator in the Madden series, wasn't he? :confused: Back when Madden was on Fox?!?!

    Seemed liked Pat Summerall and Tom Brookshier called every Cowboys home game I watched on TV in the 70/80s. I hated the 'boys as a kid worse than now.

    They were great announcers, maybe the best ever.

    As a sportscaster, Summerall was the voice of football for me.

    I met and conversed with him several years ago at a big dinner party honoring Darrel Royal (music by Willie Nelson) and he was very gracious.

    PS: also met Willie that night and he was (good naturedly) hitting on my wife.
