Anyone heard of this guy? Says he went to St. John's but was never eligible to play. Looks more like a 4, but his athleticism is impressive

Seems like the kind of project you grab in the 2nd round pick and don't bring over until you make sure there is no fear of flying or requests for "protocol".

We have a high 2nd round pick, I wouldn't mind taking a chance on the kid. We need a backup defensive Center for Omer.

Looks like a superb athlete. However, the fact that he couldn't get himself eligible in multiple years definitely is a knock on his intelligence. Could be he just isn't meant for a classroom.... But in all honesty, freshman year of college was incredibly easy. Of course I came from a good high school so that could have a large factor in that.

Players like this most usually are a waste of draft picks. Almost inevitably busts.

Having said that, I'm intrigued with him because of his ability to get off the ground fast. In my opinion, purely vertical leap data is overrated. In the NBA game it isn't how high you can jump, it is how fast.

    And this guy is fast.

I'm very rarely interested in guys that blocks a lot of shots from the weak side on help because they can measure then time. But this guy (admittedly never heard of him before) just goes straight up fast

In a recent Zack Lowe article he talked about how intelligence is becoming ever-more important in the NBA due to the defenses forcing teams to be more deceptive on offense.

With that said, if he's there in the late second round, I wouldn't object to Les throwing some of his money away and buying a pick to stash this guy overseas.

agreed that intelligence is important, but academic performance doesn't necessarily = intelligence.

The kid certainly looks like a freakish athlete for his size. has a nice stroke too. precisely the kind of players worth gambling on with a 2nd round pick.

A dleague spot should be offered if he goes undrafted. His measurements may needs update, otherwise it's just average even for a 4.

Kinda reminds me of Stromile Swift. Super athletic but mash potato brains. But eff it, worth a second round pick.
