Comments like these make me wanna wish we ended up like the Hornets this year just so fans would be able realize and appreciate how this team have immensely over-achieved this season.

Why the Hornets? Because we are just as young, talented and inexperienced as that team. And look where they're at. Also, the Rockets are the only playoff team with max salary cap space available still. Most playoff teams are either maxed out or even way above the luxury tax threshold.

And what's the one consistent thing between this year and last?

Since it will be the final regular season game on Wednesday, i will make my final prediction.

My projection above from a month ago says a Loss against LA. On the other hand, i also predicted the Rockets to finish with 46 wins.

I will stand by my projected 46 wins and i predict a Rockets win against the Lakers on Wednesday.

Been a stellar season fellas and thanks for all your contributions to this thread. It's great to be a Rockets fan again and it is definitely a new age indeed! Future looks bright for Red Nation!

If there's any silver lining, it's that this Laker game will be valuable experience.

It will be a playoff atmosphere in a hostile environment, without being an actual playoff game.

One thing to note is the outcome of the UTA/MEM game will be known by the time our game starts. Both games will be back-to-back on ESPN.

Houston wins (respect if it's blowout), gets 7 seed and Utah wins to kick out Lakers = perfect scenario!

But that won't impact our game with the Lakers. Yes, a Utah loss would clinch a playoff spot for L.A., but don't think for one second they wouldn't rather face an old, wounded Spurs team in Round 1 than a young, healthy Thunder squad. So Wednesday remains a must-win for the Lakers.

I am holding a viewing party hoping for this...but I am also believing the NBA is manipulated by stern for business reasons.

So I full expect crawford and or bivetta to be the refs (watch)

and they will give all the close calls to lakers....I dont believe that they will force the lakers to win, but they will make it very hard on houston.

So barring the rockets playing out of their mind... (which they can do) the lakers will win.

After watching how blatant the refs have been in favor of the lakers I am very cynical over our playoff seeding...........I dont know how rockets let themselves lose to phoenix.

That was the worst loss of the season easily.

Playing the Lakers, in LA, in an elimination game? Yeah, hello 8th seed.

obiously you havent watched the nba this decade.

The lakers could win this with nash, pau, howard , artest and Gasol all out with injury.

Well at least it's not the nightmare scenario of win or drop out of playoffs.

Moreover, Stern is likely pushing for an OKC-HOU first round match-up.

Will the Grizzlies rest their guys against Utah? Or will they be trying to fight for HC?

Clearly HC didn't matter last year.
