Rockets have to beat LA. It is going to be a tough one. In LA. Fighting for there playoff lives. Steve Blakes has been balling. DH12 has been balling. LA is a poor defensive tea but so are we. I want the Rockets to play the Spurs. Maybe they were tanking tonight so that they could play them. I really hope that is what it is.
I am serious I think McFail didn't realize we could slip to 8th losing to the lakers on Wed... And we are not winning on Wed.
Does anybody ****ing read any posts in these threads. We are headed for a matchup against OKC. OKC vs the Rockets! That is the #@!king matchup. We will never get out of the first round. Probably weren't going anywhere anyway but at least we might have one a couple of games against Denver. Now its 4 and out! 4 and it's over. We suck! Harden choked in the finals and he choked tonight. Nothing to be ashamed about. It takes greatness to play under pressure. Harden wanted that role and proved he is not up for it. We don't have that guy on this team. We suck in big games. The thing is Lin has proven to be clutch in big games in high school , college and in the NBA as a knick. unfortunately he is not going to lead us to a championship either just not good enough. Harden has proved to be very good without pressure but the more the pressure the less he performs. Very sad... we can't ride that horse to the promise land. It's Dwight Howard or Bust!
The only possible bigger joke than TRob is DMO. You can talk personnel all you want but EFFORT lost this one. Got run off the court in the first half...especially the 1st quarter. Been like this on several loses against inferior competition. The definition of a fool is someone who keeps trying the same thing and expecting different results. I saw about everything tonight ...one on 3 rebounds by the Suns (Rockets favor), out hustled for every loose ball...them going to the floor to get while we didn't. Bottom line..they wanted it more and it showed...big time.
It's inexplicable. They either tanked this game or it's complete incompetence on the part of McFail. How do you leave your starters out most of the 4th and let them go cold? At least put them in when your bench has gotten you close again. You've been getting blocked, not getting any stops, not getting rebounds, and you don't put Asik, Jones, or Smith back in the game? Running super small ball with guys that have been sitting for 8 minutes? Let me guess, the guys didn't run, they didn't move the ball, there was just no flow. SMH. Ridiculous.
As bad as the Rockets played, some credit has to go to the Suns though. 4 players had one of their best games of the seasons. Scola 26/15/4 Dragic 21/14/5 Markieff 20/7/6 blks Tucker (out of nowhere) 21/5/2 I agree that the coaching and Harden's play were terrible tonight. Asik in the middle might have stopped Scola from eating the young PFs alive. But this is a fluke game for the Suns as much as it's a bad game for us. I just hope they show up for the Lakers game. Nothing will make me happier than the Rockets keeping the Fakers out of the playoffs in a season where Artest predicted 73 wins.
This whole situation can turnout OK if we beat the Lakers on Wednesday. 7th seed versus the Spurs, who are really not peaking themselves.
The Rockets were not and are not tanking. They never have while Morey was here. They simply ran into a team on the end of a b2b on the road that thought it was game 7 of the finals...remember the tough loss we gave to them. It happens. Remember how we owned the Warriors? Then the Warriors repaid that favor? Sometimes it happens. Sometimes the other team is just up for a certain game and that happens.
NBA.com stats site isn't up to date: http://www.nba.com/advancedstats/te...rs|1610612745,1610612759;year=201213;season=r Make that 1-2 vs. OKC and 0-4 against Denver/1-3 against San Antonio. Our best win percentage is still against the Thunder.
Poppovich sat Parker during the final minutes against the Lakers. When the media asked Poppovich if he was trying to rest Parker for the playoffs or if Parker needed to sit due to his lingering injury, Poppovich told them "No, Tony was perfectly healthy. He was just playing awful." THAT's why he's the best coach in the NBA. Harden is good, but he's soft. Keeps on driving into the lane looking for fouls instead of making a real play, plus he doesn't play defense. People here who think he's the #1 SG in the league are delusional. There's a big gap between Kobe/Wade, and Harden. Harden's an All-star this year, but PK Subban he is not.
You are absolutely, right man. McFail is just not a good coach. It's almost the end of the regular season, and I am sure that the reason we are in the playoff because of Harden and the other players. His coaching style will not work in the playoff. You can see that tonight.
What happens when the opponents start the game shooting 11-for-12 on 18-foot long 2s? Competent Coach: Keep making them shoot the long 2s, because they can't make long 2s at that rate all night. Incompetent Coach: Go full reetaard on adjustments to stop them from shooting long 2s by giving them dunks, layups, and putbacks instead.
Wait ... weren't we just happy to be in the playoffs a few days ago? Truth is we are still learning about this team and the coaches. This year we are just happy to be in the playoffs. Next year we will aim for quality FAs and shore up our weaknesses which these losses are showing
I have a hard time believing that this Lin/Harden pairing is going to work. They still don't really know how to play off each other.
