    Not sure if insensitive, but did they cancel the rest of the marathon? Like what about people on mile 15 when this happened. Are/were the people told no more race?

    2 fatalities in that huge group it went off in is somewhat fortunate. Has the same feel of the Olympic bombing, I hope there's just one psycho behind it.

    I've read that most of the runners had finished the race already and the crowd had thinned out quite a bit from earlier in the morning/afternoon, but obviously, that's just report and speculation. It could have been much worse if it was a few hours earlier.

    They were diverted on the opposite end, told to continue some other way... I believe cutting the same amount of running... :eek: I heard this on NBC news.

    The blast was believed to have targeted the larger blob of runners who aren't the BEST ones... since they come in a bunch at around the time of the blast. It was supposed to have been timed.

    My brother finally broke 3 hours in the marathon today in Boston.

    Fortunately, he was gone by the time the blasts occurred. Terrible tragedy for those who remained, however.

    Unlikely. I've heard there were bags or they were in mailboxes/trash cans. I think if there were suicide bombers, we probably would've heard rumblings of it by now. I've heard none of the such.
