I thought Kidd would account for 50 total points on his own. Instead, his line was uglier than Steve's. J. Kidd 31 3-12 25% 0-5 0% 0-0 -- 2 2 4 4 0 2 0 1 6 Jason Kidd, aka the prototype PG was actually outplayed by the drunk driver Steve Francis. Strange. If Steve had had that line, the Yao and anti Steve fans would have gone off.
Is Francis trying to court Tony Parker so he can come to Rockets to play PG next season? He hinted earlier today that he would prefer to play SG.
I'm having a hard time understanding your point. The Rockets kicked their *** toinght, and it's something they are fully capable of doing on a nightly basis. Go Rockets!!
Nets is really in shooting funk right now. They struggle more than Rockets after All Star break. Kidd is injured.
it is stupid to compare 2 players in one game.... but why mention that Kidd is injured? Isn't Francis injured also? and he caught a flu the day b4 also right? Francis performed better this game..... give him props....
Francis had the flu also, he was questionable for this game, what's your point? Almost all NBA players have some sort of nagging injury and still have good games. Give Francis some respect.
The reason we won was because of our transition defense and our rebounding. We didn't allow the Nets to get out on the break and we didn't allow second chance points.
Oh I agree. I even stated that I would trade Steve for Kidd. I just know that if Steve had gone 3 for 12, you and people like you, would be alot louder. Even the best PG in the league can have bad nights. I'm just surprised he couldn't get his team involved.
what do you mean, he got them completely involved in his bad night. everyone shot just like him and played just as poorly.
but, he's Jason Kidd!!!! I think the boxscore guy screwed up. It was Francis who shot 3 of 11 and Kidd shot 8 of 14.
the rockets got lucky this game. the only reason we won was b/c the nets sucked even more. shooting under 40% a game is nothing to be proud of...even if it is a win.
I think the Nets were bad tonight, but I think the Rockets also kicked them while they were falling. Nets would've made a comeback against the Rockets we saw during our 4-game losing streak. But no, we also smothered them into submission. Francis did a good job playing a team game. Kidd, this year, is trying to up his scoring #'s to get that MVP and a bigger contract. At least that's my VERY OWN PERSONAL opinion.
We did good. I know.....the Nets looked horrible. It's all because of Kidd. I think he has the flu too. He did not look normal. He wasn't very emotional either. The rest of his team was terrible.....I thought something was wrong with the basket. I mean the NETS scoring 24 points in the first half..........or something like that. Steve Francis definitely looked better than Jason Kidd...for one game. Francis was also injured and had the flu. Maybe the Rockets had a very good practice on Friday...and Rudy told them all about the Nets. AND the Nets...they would have scored like 60 points if it wasn't for that Scalabrine guy and Slay.
Kidd flat out sucked last night. He did what he could to get his team into it, but they sucked just as bad. If you saw the game, you know that Steve outplayed Kidd and that the Rockets outplayed the Nets. Everyone, which includes even the most hated guards on our team, played good D and kept the Nets from getting second chances. That's why despite the fact that we still had trouble getting our shots to fall (especially Yao), we were still able to crush NJ. The shooting for the Rox looked a little better last night, but it still wasn't great. The good thing is that there was good ball movement by the Rockets and good rebounding to keep the offense alive. That's the kind of game we need to have every night; the shooting will come back around. This little stretch of days will be crucial for the Rockets' hopes for an offseason. Rudy T said that Friday was a great practice; they need to have great practices from now 'til Wednesday in order to win these homestand games and get serious about Phoenix.
You know. no one has answered the question the thread began with.. I'd be curious if someone does. I didn't see the game and a thoughtful answer to this would be cool. How did we hold Jersey under 100? Dave.
I guess their skid is even worse than ours. I agree, we shouldn't necessarily be happy with a game in which we won, yet only mustered a little over 80 points on less than 40% shooting. I'll take the win, but man, oh man, something needs to be done on the offensive end. We need to be hitting our freaking shots!
