I think he's learned a lot about leadership and work ethic from Kobe. I think he really wants this to be his team in the long-run. Why do you hate him so much? Your hate has made you ignorant. You must hate him much more than you LOVE basketball, because he's great for the game. I'm not his biggest fan either, but he's one of the greatest players of all time and he has more heart in his old, 35 year old body than all of the Rockets combined. You have to respect that.
Well the Lakers defense just got a lot better... He didn't even attempt to defend anyone or make switches.
I don't remember a single NBA player who came back the same from a torn achillies. Not one. At Kobe's age this may just be it. Like him or not, Kobe Bryant is one of the best scorers that the game has ever seen. It's sad that he goes out like this. MJ should be happy. He may just keep his No.3 position on the all-time scoring list. How appropriate that Kobe falls just short of Jordan again.
More appropriate that his injury happened while getting a phantom whistle that ended up winning the game for the Lakers. That kind of defines Kobe's career.
Starting lineup still has steve nash, paul gasol and dwight howard. On paper should still be a top 3 team.

seeing how our former stars( yao n tmac) went down with injuries, Laker fans were spoiled. If this is it, Great Career.
Billips? although he only plays 15-19 mins a game but thats because he's on a incredibly deep clipper team... but he's super efficent in his 15-19 mins a game and i'm sure he could play more if needed.
Dominique Wilkins but there arent many names beyond that. I have a friend up there in age as well who tore his and he still has a tad bit of a limp til this day and that was years ago.
I hope Mchale is watching. No reason to play Harden 40+ minutes the rest of these games. Not worth it for a sweep against Denver.
#cholonation faints. Fat Mexicans all over America should light some candles and pour out some liquor for the almighty Black Mamba. I will now make my way to the lakerground forum, assuming it hasn't crashed by now.
if anyone can do it, kobe can, and it is true for the most part many players never come back the same after such an injury, such as billups, ewing, elton brand, isiah thomas, but there is hope. dominique wilkens ruptured his achilles during the 91/92 season at age 33, and came back the following year posting: ppg: 29.9 / rpg: 6.8 / apg: 3.2 fg%: .468 / 3pt%: .380 / ft%: .828 and still put up dominating stats for another year or two after that. so there is still hope!
Gary Vitti their long time trainer was pissed off that D'Antoni didn't have the balls to take Kobe out right before Kobe got injured. Idiot coach.
Really dumb move by Mike. Kobe already had 2 almost-injuries that night and he was like "lol wat r d chances lmfao"
Well, they've been on the sidelines a long time, so they probably assumed he was faking it as usual. I'm still not 100% convinced myself, to be honest.
