I think it is easier to tell which roles players are gems than which stars are busts. I think expectations also have a lot to do with it.
To him they're the safer pick. Most of the the tweener forwards usually have the numbers in college that can be used by the bball analytics. The physical freaks are a higher risk but of course a higher reward. There's been a lot more tall lanky busts out there than you think. I remember when the board was drooling over Hassan Whiteside and look where he is now.
