Nothing wrong with giving an opinion on a player based on their play in the D-League. D-Mo also played for the Vipers this season the same time that Olbrecht was playing for the Vipers, so we had a chance to evaluate both players against similar competition. D-Mo clearly has offensive skills in the low post, but defensively he is a huge liability since he gets overpowered by stronger players and he tends to get into foul trouble. While I think D-Mo has a much higher upside than Olbrecht long term, I think Olbrecht would probably be a better choice as a backup center this season. Just my opinion.
Will he ever be ready? He couldn't even make the rosters of bad Euroleague teams, despite years of trying. The guy has a lot of physical talent for his size, but he's always been a scrub. He was even a borderline scrub must of the time he was in the German League.
