We asked 111 experts to rate each player on a 0-to-10 scale, in terms of "the current quality of each player." Dirk Nowitzki? Carmelo Anthony? Derrick Rose who has yet to play after a torn ACL?
I think if a guy hasn't touched the court once, or played less than half the season, he shouldn't be placed in these rankings. Seems rather unfair. So I'm not putting guys like Rose, Bynum, or Love. If they were at full strength, they'd definitely be in the top 15. My personal 12/13 ratings: 1. LeBron James 2. Kevin Durant 3. Chris Paul 4. Kobe Bryant 5. James Harden 6. Russell Westbrook 7. Carmelo Anthony 8. Dwyane Wade 9. Brook Lopez 10. Blake Griffin 11. Tony Parker 12. Tim Duncan 13. Stephen Curry 14. Marc Gasol 15. Dwight Howard 16. LaMarcus Aldridge 17. Chris Bosh 18. Kyrie Irving 19. Al Horford 20. David Lee 21. Paul Pierce 22. Paul George 23. J.R. Smith 24. Zach Randolph 25. Monta Ellis 26. Al Jefferson 27. Deron Williams 28. Paul Millsap 29. Jrue Holiday 30. Danilo Gallinari
Shouldn't there have been a 1-4 range or something to cover the first 4 spots as well since we are just guessing where he will land on a ranking done by ESPN? I am not saying he is in that range, but that doesn't mean they couldn't overrate him. I bet he will end up in the 5-7 range, though.
Bunch of kneejerk rankings. Wall better than Rondo based on a good month of exceptional form? Ridiculous.
Tier 1 - Lebron Tier 2 -Durant, cp3 Tier 3 - kobe, Melo, harden, Dwight Tier 4 - Parker, westbrook, wade, Duncan, Blakia Tier 5 -George, kyrie, curry, Marc, Lopez, bosh, Aldridge I say 4-7... 8 at worse...
1. Lebron 2. Durant 3. Paul 4. Kobe 5. Parker (lots of you guys are underestimating his offensive and defense ability) 6. Howard (still the best defensive player in the league) 7. Melo (slightly better scorer and defender outweighs Harden's advantage in passing/playmaking) 8. DWade (slowing down offensively, but still way better than Harden defensively) 9. Harden 10. Westbrook
Why is everyone writing off Dwayne Wade? You do realize he's playing with Lebron James, right? Of course his scoring will take a dip. If Miami was still Wade's team, I have no doubt he would still be averaging 27-28 a game.
Why the OP didn't give 1 to 4 option. From the votes casted so far, there would be votes for >= No.4. I guess after LeBron and Durant, who knows. Delusional Lin fans have plenty of company.
He'll be in the top fifteen, somewhere."Duh! I could have told you that!" 30. Paul Pierce 29. Zach Randolph 28. Paul George 27. Kevin Love 26. Brook Lopez 25. LaMarcus Aldridge 24. Tyson Chandler 23. Derrick Rose 22. Rajon Rondo 21. John Wall 20. Al Horford 19. Joakim Noah 18. Chris Bosh 17. Deron Williams 16. Stephen Curry
LeBron, Durant, CP3 are not going anywhere. Diwght may be off a little this season but still the best defender. You have to hope Carmelo way off next year and none other players improve more than Harden in order for Harden to have any chance in the top 5.
In order: Lebron CP3 Durant Harden Duncan Wade Parker Melo Kobe Gasol Carmelo and Kobe will be overrated like always so I expect Harden to be ranked #6-8.
