Whos going to win the scoring championship? I want Durant to win it because it will make him the 3rd player in NBA to win 4 straight. This is going to be fun to watch.
Melo has a very good chance. Besides exceptional spurts during some games, KD hasn't been himself in a while. It's like he has a lot of trouble shifting into gear and sometimes really doesn't get it going. He better play with more energy and inspiration during the playoffs or OKC is in big trouble. I realize this sounds weird considering his season stat line, but if you watch OKC on a regular basis you know exactly what I mean. Even the Pacers announcers commented on how he started the game lackadaisical and indifferent (before shredding them in the 2nd half).
Durant is the far more efficient and better scorer, but I think Melo is more likely to win the scoring title. I can see Melo really doing whatever it takes to win including jacking up 30 shots a game to do it
I've noticed this too. What is wrong with Durant? Is it Westbrook that is effecting his play? I've also noticed that Durant doesn't fare well against Lebron. Why is that?
Well, Artest is far stronger than him and Artest was/is defense specialist and Durant still did/does good against him. I don't think it has to do with being stronger. Durant has height and length on Lebron and is a way better scorer so I don't see how Durant can't do well against Lebron.
artest is slow now. Battier was guarding him. LeBron saved his energy defending a useless big most of the time. But yeah, Durant probably won't win the scoring title.
Melo is a top 3 mvp candidate this year. Without amare they are 34-13. His true shooting percentage is 56% which isn't bad.
If Durant had the balls to tell WB to stop chucking away so much it probably wouldn't even be a problem. Durant should win it, Melo is a ball hogging piece of trash.
WB has nothing to do with it. KD's played with him the last 5 years. WB has actually saved OKC's bacon because he dominates first quarters while KD takes his vacation. Sometimes Ibaka steps up too. It's getting old. Something isn't right and KD needs to snap out of it.
Durant is scoring 36.5 ppg against lebron, to go along with 7.5 rpg and 3.5 apg. Also he is shooting 51% from the floor. I think that are ok numbers... Lebron also plays great against durant, averaging : 34ppg, 10 rpg and 8 apg, while shooting 59% from the floor. Both have monster numbers against each other, its just that lebron is the better player while durant is the better scorer.
I read on dailythunder.com about a month ago, that Durant was having some off the court issues. In perticular dealing with family issues, where his family was draining him of his money. I don't know if that is accurate though.
Well, it just doesn't seem like he does good when I watched the games. Westbrook is the reason Thunder keep up with Miami cause of his fearlessness. Can you get that link?
No point in explaining it to some folks Westbrook is to blame for everything. Hard to tell they have improved each year he has been there since he is holding Durant back so much according to plenty of folks.
Greatly misleading stats. In the previous matchup Durant was like 4/16 when it actually mattered. The Heat were blowing the Thunder out by 20+ points. Lebron took a break since he was tired since he has to guard Durant while Durant guards Chalmers. Durant took advantage of this and padded his stats(and got a lot of undeserved Fts mind you). Durant had about 20 points during garbage time when the Heat were already up by a lot. Ended up scoring 40 points. Half during garbage time. Played the entire game. In terms of impact Durant was practically invisible while Lebron was dominant throughout. This is why box score watching and stats can be misleading. It looks like an even matchup even though it was a one-sided beat down. Lebron was scoring all over the floor and dominating while Durant shrunk while being guarded by Lebron.
Last matchup Durant was abysmal so if you were watching that game you would be correct. He was completely made ineffective by Lebron. He tried to guard Lebron at first but gave up since he was not able to stop him at all. He got a lot of his points when Lebron was on the bench and off soft calls.
