Isnt a Certain team in the EAST that just lost its Center that some Coach said and i quote "We need anything with two legs" ?(the center had Kidney Trouble ------------------ "Funny thing is, Steve is a white, 45 year-old, balding father who is trying to be "down" with the kids. Right? Go take out the trash!" rimbaud "Yo first of allz im 17 and second i told dat Bitc% the baby aint mine fool!" STEVE
If the Rocks went this route, there are serious cap implications which would impede this "nameless" team from the East from performing such a trade. 1) Dreams contract is worth as much as ALL of the following: Anthony Mason / Dan Majerle / Dale Ellis / Anthony Carter / Ricky Davis / Todd Fuller 2) Dreams contract is also worth ALL of the following: Anthony Mason / Duane Causwell (Dec. 15th) / Dan Majerle / Dale Ellis 3) The only somewhat expendable Heat player is Tim Hardaway with a one year $12M deal. The recently signed deal makes him untradable within the CB Agreement. In short, it would be almost impossible for the Heat to obtain Dream without help from a third team. I just don't see this having much interest on either side. ------------------ GATER
Just got back to this board and suddenly this news about Hakeem wanting to be traded. I think Hakeem thinks he could play this game at a high level, that his medical problems are behind him. He is very optimistic about this season. Remember he was not actually physically worn out last season because of his breathing problem. That means he at least got a one year reprieve from the wear and tear of a basketball season. I compare it to a mini-retirement of Jordan where he then proceed to get three more titles after his first retirement. I think Hakeem feels that way and now that the Rocks are pursuing a different route, he does not want to disrupt this new system. IMO, although I don't want to believe it, he still thinks he should be the MAN. Can't blame the guy as that is the only way he competes. He always says: let's make it simple - 'GIVE ME THE BOL'. And even at this advance stage of his career, he still thinks he could do it. I think barring any further injuries, Hakeem will have a phenomenal season this year. We should keep him. We should make plays for him, not the whole focus but a balanced attack of motion offense and inside-outside offense. Then midseason or before the deadline for trading which I think is February, if things are not working out and under mutual agreement trade Hakeem to help the Rocks. I thought I would never say that, sad as it seems in the best interest of the Rockets let's do the right thing. Hope nobody rush into any of this especially when it concerns the Dream. ------------------
