If you ask me, “As I sit here right now, yeah" does not really confirm anything besides how he feels at the moment about retiring after that season. The second statement does not confirm retirement either. Just the fact that at the end of the day, it's Kobe's decision and only his.

"Dwight signed his new contract you can sign the contract we agreed upon 3 years ago now."

I just don't think he will retire until his play takes a more sharp decline. I expect at least 2 more years after this one.

Yeah he'll retire and then come back a few months later, with another team.

the nba will find some way to get a new star player in LA. Dwight isn't enough because he isn't what he used to be.

Unless he suffers a severe injury, he should get it by early- next season.

Just in time for the LA to snatch up the next available superstar...Gasol and Kobe are both off the books.

    DeMarcus Cousins (restricted)
    John Wall (restricted)
    Paul George (restricted)
(ETO) - One of the Big 3 in Miami...most likely Bosh or LeBron (it's possible).

    So they will have options...

That sixth chip motivates him more than anything. I expect him to stick around for next season to see if whatever they trade Pau for can make them gel better then to see whether he will re-sign with the Lakers or jump for a legit contender.

Of course he's not playing. Semi retiring then coming back till his ass is sore from all the licking.

this is complete bull**** on his part and everyone knows. He will ride as many coattails as he can because lebron is going to have a bigger legacy as far as things are going.

He's pretty much solidified his legacy as a top 20 all-time great, and it's pretty clear it can only go down from there, so retiring now is a good move.
