Is Duncan the best big in basketball this year? 18, 10, 2.7, 2.7 and outstanding defense. #1 seed in the West. All at age 36. Why is he not getting more props, especially considering how folks are slobbing Kobe for his longevity.

Because Duncan is considered boring. He's had far more impact this year and over his career than Kobe.

He always does this to the point that it gets overlooked.

Same reason why the Spurs never get any spot light in the media.

he hasnt been this good since 08-09. with the spurs' crazy depth, parker and duncan turning the clock back, they're definitely contenders.

right now he's definitley the best big in the game. howard has turned it on in february but this tim duncan hasnt been seen for years

To sleep on Duncan would be rather uncomfortable.

No. You can just look at PER if you want a comparison since that is a per-minute production that also factors in pace.

I don't know about "sitting" on Duncan. Any other big getting run this year? KG? Howard(for being good rather than being a baby)? Aldridge? Bosh? Ibaka? Noah? Lopez? Gasol? Griffin?

I can't think of any big men that people are drooling over at the expense of Duncan. In general all the bigs are getting fazed out by perimeter guys.

Howard is the best rebounder. Sanders the best shotblocker. Nowitzki the best scorer. Tim Duncan has the best all around skills for a big man ... but he's not remarkable in any One category .... that's why.
