The only interesting thing about this thread...

To what extent do you think people should engage in "support" for administration policy for the sake of unity? I'll agree that it can be useful in war at times. However, compromising one's own standards of logic and values seems a heavy price to pay for such benefits.

On the specific issue... I could care less. Hillary Clinton is something of a bizarre figure, politically. She's taken several unpopular stances, but at other times acts much like her husband in poll-choosing. I think people tend to view political figures as too monolithic. I think she has a strong personality and has trouble stifling that at times, despite her ambitions.

She's not a good candidate, if for no other reason... that a Democratic woman will not win the Presidency for decades, if not more. A Republican woman will win far before someone like Hillary does.

The first time I have heard that opinion expressed for a Republican woman to win the Presidency (before a Democratic woman).
What is the reasoning behind that?

You could not be more wrong. Hillary, as much as I dislike her, will be a challenge for Bush whenever she chooses to run.

Name another Democrat as potent as Hillary

What's really sad - For the first time in my life, I agree with Ted Kennedy. Man - that's depressing.

Uh...you could not be more wrong (! - for the slow ones). Hillary will never be a challenge for Bush whenever she decides to run, you ignorant Republican, you (for the conflict-minded). If she runs in '08, how will she be a challenge to Bush? He either will have just ended his second term (and term limits will come in) or will have already been rendered a nonfactor by losing in '04. What if she runs in '12? '16?

Uh, "sheez," uh...you right wing guys don't know nothing about no politics.
