cause the other team is going to bring in their best players. You have to roll with your best players and hope the law of averages catches up and they get going.

Pop has proven he can get the most out of players and these role players can actually win him games. When has McHale ever proved this? At least Pop can say "i bring in scrubs and i still win"

This is true of all sports....in hockey if you're down 3-0 early and you're 3rd and 4th line rally and the game is now 5-3....you really think you're better off not bringing sidney crosby and the 1st or 2nd line because they were having a bad game up that point?

Right now, we have the Lakers chasing us, and the possibility of a 6th seed with some luck and only 11 games left.

You do NOT throw ANY games this late in the season with play off seeding on the line unless they are specifically trying to get a worse seed... and if that's the case, then just SIT some of the Key Starters as DNP's. IE, why would you risk Harden, Parsons, Lin or Asik at ALL against a very physical Memphis team?

If McHale did this to rest the starters, it's an idiotic choice with the game down to 3 possessions and 6 minutes left.

If McHale did this to send a message, it's an idiotic choice with multiple teams fighting to get in the play offs and the possibility of falling out of the play offs STILL in play.

If McHale did this because he thought the Bench was going to bring us back, it's an idiotic choice as soon as Memphis brought their Starters back in.

I just can't see any rational reason why you wouldn't put your Best 5 players on the floor, whoever you think they are at that point. And there's no possible scenario from tonight were all 5 players on the bench were the "best" 5 we could have had on the floor.

There's no way to put it other than it's a Colossal blunder in my view.

What I saw tonight was what I have been seeing the last couple of games....a team being outworked,out hustled. A team playing little defense and allowing 3 and 4 offensive rebounds to Memphis. A lazy, ambivalent team going through the motions. It is scary because we haven't clinched a playoff spot yet. I don't think we match up well with the cLips so I definitely don't feel good about beating them tomorrow night.

the ROckets arent a good rebounding team to begin with and Memphis kills everyone on the board. What did people expect.

ZBo and Gasol are two of the best forwards in the NBA. Conley is arguably a top 10 PG (under rated in my opinion). Tony Allen is one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA.

And you want our BENCH playing against them? Not unless they're hitting 80% of their shots.

You don't put your Bench in against a top tier play off team Starting Line up. It's that simple.

On paper and in a usual game this is normally true; but, what do you do if your starters are playing worst than the bench players on that given night?

I've seen Popovich pull his starters early in a game and not put them back in. I've seen him clear out the bench when the outcome still wasn't certain. He's one of the greatest coaches in the history of this league.

And let's be real. On the road, down 9, around 6-7 minutes left, our starters versus their starters. You say a loss is far from certain, and I agree, but really what is the probability of stealing a win in that scenario? Less than 10%, surely.

It may seem strange to "give up" like that, but if you're playing the odds and factor in that the starters should be more rested for tomorrow's game, this decision isn't so crazy.

Yeah, but head a better team ( and bench ) one of the best offensive systems in the league, a good defense, and is an outstanding coach. ****ing Keith smart could do the same thing and lose, I'm not going to give him a pass just because Popavich does it. That's ridiculous.

The bench decreased the Griz lead from 17 to 9. And the bench were playing the Griz starters for half of the fourth quarter. What were you saying about contracts?

Terrence Jones had 23 pts on 9-11 FG, 11 boards (5 off), 2 steals and a block in just 27 minutes in the @rgvvipers win tonight.

DMO too big of a liability when he's not scoring.
