I said if Westbrook is made to play in Lin's role (which is to bring the ball past halfcourt and give it up to Harden as soon as he does, and to camp in corner 3), then he would be pretty useless too as he has to wait for the ball to be kicked out to him and, like Lin, RW doesn't have outside shot to catch and shoot either.

There's no question Westbrook can do damage one-on-one. Likewise, there's no question Lin can do damage if he goes one-on-one. But that role on this Rockets team has already been taken by Harden... and when Harden plays the role of playmaker/ PG, the real PG of the team is reduced to camping in corner.

Regarding Harden and Westbrook: just TS%? Bull****, I already put them all: Harden averages more PPG, higher FG%, way higher TS%, on LESS FGA (higher efficiency)... than Westbrook and you're still saying if they're on the same team today, RW should be no 1 option over Harden?

    lololololol

    Please...

Egad! Lin says he doesn't play well without spacing! He must be the worst player in the NBA if he needs spacing to do his job offensively! Offhand, I can't think of another player in the entire league who needs that! You listen to interviews after the game and every single player says "Thank goodness the spacing was shot to hell, or it would have been stifling my game."

What sane person is saying Lin is CP3?

Why would Westbrook be "made" to play Lin's role with a talent like that. And what makes you think about this crossing the half-court and giving the ball to Harden and camping out at the corner is something against Lin. Camping at the corner is called spacing. Giving it to Harden is not a "constant'" occurrence and it all depends on what type of play they're trying run. LOL.

Lin can do damage 1-on-1.......LMAO. Stop, just stop. You're too funny.
You're fantasizing way too much. Snap out of it. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

another day and i see rockets_pride still going at it.

i won't quote you out of respect for people ignoring you, but i'll bite.

    lin's weaknesses:
long range jump shot. i think his midrange shot is pretty good, but does not take many of them.
ball protection (turnovers). he has improved and i hope he continues to improve.
stamina. he does seem tired at times. first full season starting so i would think that will improve.
inconsistency and streaky. when he is on, it's linsanity. when he is off, he is off.

    lin's strengths:
first step. elite and very fast.
    floor vision. very good.
    playmaking & passing. good.
    steals. he is very good.
defense. good, although there are guys too quick for him.
attitude. he is not acting like brandon jennings.

What spacing are we talking about? Spacing the floor or spacing to get his shot off. In this case, Lin was referring to spacing the floor, which means w/out it he can't penetrate. Ok, so let me see. If you can't penetrate, try something else, right? Ooops, Lin doesn't have anything else he can create space with. He doesn't have a step back or fade away jump shot to create "space" so he relies on other "spaces." Egad!!!!!!

It's called "hypothetical". This is the whole point: it doesn't matter how much talent you have as a player. If your coach asks you to bring the ball up and give it up and camp in corner, you wouldn't do much either. It's Derek Fisher's role. Michael Jordan wouldn't do **** if he played a Derek Fisher role, either... would coaches tell MJ to play a Derek Fisher role? No, but if he had no choice/ no say?

Lin put 38pts on great defensive team like Spurs when Harden didn't play. He can't do damage? Yeah, you really don't watch games, can't read boxscore/ stats, can't write and can't troll either. So what you exactly do?

He is going to disappear when Lin has a good game, and reappear when he has a bad game.

Very good, very good. Good post deserves a good response:

Lin possesses a straight-line speed to perhaps become an elite penetrator. But lingering concern over his shooting ability makes it difficult to project his effectiveness. Elite perimeter shooting may not be a prerequisite of high-level point-guard play, but it certainly helps in executing a solid offense. By projecting a threat as a shooter, Lin would twist the defense and carve out lanes to the rim or to the open man, to say nothing of the more creative play design that would feature him as an off-ball cog rather than a ball-dominant instigator.

The projection of the league’s best playmakers are to be full-time initiators of the offense, but in today’s NBA a point guard is well served to stretch his game as a spot-up shooter and curl option — two areas where Lin is undeniably raw. Lin has his sweet spot from mid-range, but he only has access to that part of the floor off the dribble and remains a dreadful — and understandably reluctant — long-range threat. He is still inexperienced enough that these are still areas for improvement.

Do you see if Lin doesn't have consistency his shot, it's gonna be a problem for him as a playmaker. Why is Harden and Parsons doing more than Lin, cause they are currently better and more consistent shooters.

In your world it's hypothetical, not mine. I don't base anything on hypothesis but facts.

"If your coach asks you to bring the ball up and give it up and camp in corner, you wouldn't do much either." Go talk to Mchale and tell me that's what he said.

LOL. Go re-watch the 38 pt game and tell me how much damage he did going 1-on-1.

Why the heck do you compare Lin's stat to Harden's and Westbrook's? They are not on the same level.
