They are such bull**** liars and they're making me try **** that is ****ing nasty. I seriously almost gagged twice. ****ing Duck Dynasty are liars. Frogs do not even taste like chicken. I had to finish them though to be all *boss* in front of my wife. IT SUCKED. I also had Alligator and it just tasted like a dark meat chicken nugget but more bland. How is this **** good? I LOVE seafood but I can't comprehend this level of cuisine.
For some reason I thought I had eaten this before. That turned out to be Quail. No idea what the **** my parents cooked for me when I was at home now.
Ugh. I hate frogs. They taste like ****. And I ate it without knowing what the hell it was. Taste like chicken my ass.
Yeah, I tried frog legs on vacation. I took one bite and that was it. My dad used to swear by how good they were when I was a kid, so I finally decided to try them. They tasted like I was taking a big gulp of the water that they lived in.
Never had frogs, but Alligator is good. Was watching Swamp People yesterday and a couple of them went squirrel hunting; said you could make a good squirrel stew out of it. Umm no thanks.
Had Alligator sausage at the Gumbo Shop in the French quarter last summer - it was really really good. Never had frog legs though.
Most people don't know how to prepare frog legs for cooking. You need to soak them in enough cold water to cover with a tablespoons or so of salt & a couple tablespoons of vinegar. Let sit for half to 1 hour then drain dry bread & fry. Other wise they taste like water out of a fish tank! Back in the 60's & early 70's had to feed my family a lot of squirrels and deer and frog legs to get buy. Thankfully the game warden did not care if you killed deer out of season as long as you killed them to feed your family. Then a job with Shell Oil came along. I ate frog legs at a restaurant the other day and they were bad ended up going back to their kitchen to teach them how to cook them. Plan to go back and teach them how to make a good ckf steak next!
Frog's legs don't taste like chicken, more of a combo between chicken and mild fish. You have to properly brine it or soak it to get some of that wildlife flavor out of it. I personally love it as a once-in-a-while treat. To say that it tastes just like chicken is just setting people up for disappointment, though.
Frog legs are delicious. You just didn't have good ones. The meat is like a chicken wing. Fried and salted are good, or if they're in a nice spicy sauce. It's all about how it's cooked. On another note, there has been a serious lack of Mountain Man. He's the best character.
That's exactly what it tasted like. I didn't like the coating at all, real heavy fried and it just slipped off of the meat. I'm also not a fan of dark meat chicken and this is what it kinda tasted like, just more "fishy". Super greasy, just a mess. I really think the only thing good that Mardi Gra Grill even makes is crawfish and ****ty parking.
