OK- I am Rudy T (so you be Rudy T) Here's what I'm going to do to turn this train wreck around: 1. I'm setting up my lineup change first- Mo T for Eddie G 2. Next here is the scoring option in order of priority and I am going to enforce this every game- #1 option Ming in the low post- Every time #2 Mo T in the low post- We are now primarily a low post offense #3 Steve and post player pick and roll #4 Steve drive to the basket and go strong to the hoop- Steve has lost his driving scoring because he is not finishing strong. When he was game to the rim he was getting more foul calls, getting banged around more and drawing much more physical contact. #5 Cuttino wide open jump shot #6 Cuttino drive to the basket off the pick #7 Hawkins or Posey (who are starting for their defense)- pass the ball asap when you have it. Occasionally put up the wide open shot. 3. If you don't play hard nose defense you sit. Period 4. Steve you will stop your man from penetrating and we will help Steve off the pick. 5. Yao will use up to 3 fouls every first half because Yao is not going to let anyone get to the basket without a block or hard enough foul to cause a missed shot. Yao will become my intimidator even if it costs me some fouling out. Because we are going to send a message that there are no easy buckets under our basket. (Cato, Griffin and T Morris will also carry this attitude) 6. Forcing up wild shots and wild turn over are going to put you on the bench for about 3 -5 minutes of redirection. 7. Only Yao has the ability to mismatch most everyone that defends him. He will have the freedom to go 1 on 1. Everyone else will move the ball and get good looks. 8. And finally as the head coach we will play the system or trade talks will begin. OK- Here are solutions for a change, I believe they would transform this team within 5 games (sorry its so late in the season) What would you do if you were Rudy?
