i didnt think he would get fined, since he was actually pushed a bit. Omer embellished it really well though. I could've sworn one of the examples of a non-fine "flop" was one where one guy was actually pushed but embellished. I'm too lazy to look for it though ;'p

Gallinaris flop is hilarious. Asik pulled it off pretty good.

lol that's what I was thinking but Harden doesn't really flop he just "creates" contact and still manages to take a legit shot. On the other hand when Chris Paul does it, he just throws the ball in the air and waves his arm like a puppet with strings. Sad that it took the most obvious flop by Paul that the ref didn't even bother to turn his head for the league finally to give a warning.

They best to give parker and ginobody some fines then. Asik is a reputable defender and shouldn't be put on a short leash like that.

It's like they're just using it to keep some players in check and telling other players don't do this kind of flop (CP3-Cousins flop) because fans hate it. Where are the LeBron, Kobe and Durant flop warnings?

I mean 5,000$ is still 1/1000 of his yearly salary. Let's say you make about 85K a year... think if you got hit with an 85$ fine each time you cursed at work or something. I am sure after getting hit with a couple you would probably think twice before doing it again, or at least doing it blatantly. It may be "chump change," but it still makes you think twice... which I believe is the point. So if you think about it, Asik is taking one for the team (team benefits from his foul getting called). It would be like you (in the cursing fine scenario) taking one for the team and giving the office douche a good old fashion verbal F-you.

that's not the definition of a flop. A flop is pretending to be fouled when you weren't, not exaggerating a foul.

Flopping is a joke in general, as is getting called for a charge. Does nothing for the game of basektball... Takes no skill to run up infront of a player and fall over when he touches you.

Duncan had both hands on him, that's an automatic foul ... How can it be flopping if it's a genuine foul ?

A flop fine should not be issued when you actually get fouled. Both times Asik has been caught for flopping he was actually fouled. Meanwhile you have dbags like Paul who flop every game.

i wonder how many all star caliber player have been fined for flopping?

in the end, this is nothing more than a money making scheme for the commissioner's office so stern and his cronies can fill their coffers.

I have yet to hear the following All Star Caliber Players who are RENOWNED at Flopping get fined:

    James Harden
    Blake Griffin
    Chris Paul
    Lebron James
    Kobe Bryant
    Dirk Nowitzki
    Paul Pierce
    Manu Ginobili

Every time i see a player get fined for flopping, its always some role player.

Usual Stern NBA bs.... CP can not even get touched and he goes flailing, but we're gonna fine Omer for embellishing an actual foul... I can't wait for Stern to be gone....
