I was watching that closely and i have to say that a lot of it wasn't Greg's fault. Our guards have to learn to stop passing the ball at the knees of our bigs. Greg Smith is 6'10". I can't tell you how many times i've seen Harden or Lin do a low bounce pass to Asik or Smith which causes a turnover. They need to stop putting our bigs in a position where they have to pick the ball off the floor.

Bull, Clyde, and Bill have been commenting on this very thing all season long ...and it keeps happening.

Really you are overstating my frequency by using the word "every time"
This is the first time I have used the word regressed. As far I concern my main role is to cheer and support this team. But to see Mchale rotate players in this inconsistent dogmatic way, it sure does send flash backs to when Sampson was standing as head coach. Sorry I thought that we are pass that.

The Rockets coaches have to stop doubting their starters and start building them up. Frankly we are so close to the playoffs, it's no longer about getting the best this and trading so who and who for who. That's for later. ;)

he is shot and isn't a big target. it might limit ways to pass the ball to him. plus, he is not primary low post offense.

You didn't get New's point, did you? You can also say we lost over the 1st 14 mins (23 - 42), but beat them over the last 34 mins of the game. Or lost the game in the 1st 17 mins (36 - 50) & beat them over the last 31 mins. Or lost over the first x mins & beat them over the last (48 - x) mins. See?

And by your rationale, we should concede defeat & stop playing the game after the 1st 6 mins. After all, what's the point of playing when the Rockets already lost the game right there? In your ideal game scenario, there is no ups & downs, when the team or players played badly, they would play just as bad for the rest of the game & there is no room for them to recover or makeup ground or whatsoever.

If McHale's goal of substitutions were just to evenly matched with the Pacers & not to win the game, which I think is not, he should be fired asap. This whole "lost the game in 1st 6 mins" thing is really meaningless, the game is played over 4 quarters or 48mins, not 6. Yes, we dug ourselevs into a hole, but 10pts is not insurmountable.

That's what so frustrating about McFail. In a game like yesterday's, where you are clearly out-matched by the opponent, you should trust your starting PG and let him play through the mistakes. The thing is, Lin wasn't making that many mistakes but he wasn't doing GREAT...so McFail immediately went to his backup to see if he can be the spark plug to bring the team back. But the thing is, Beverley wasn't making that much of a difference out there either. So why not play Lin through the mistake so the kid can learn?

So you think 3 TO in the first quarter is good?

New didn't get my point. It was about substitutions. Everyone blames McHale. Actually, his substitutions were successful. My point in time is the point at which he started making substitutions. You can pick other points out of the game to talk about, but why? I'm talking about McHale's substitutions. Right at the point when he started making substitutions, the game turned.

Did you even understand the context of our exchanges in the first place. Did I say 3TO was good or even mentioned any particular player's name? WTF were you thinking? GTFO already!!!

Sadly, none of the starters played well against the Pacers.

One of the commentators said McHale should be up for coach of the year for the Rockets record this season. LOL

My apologies. I was just emulating another poster who seems a tad obtuse.

You said I was finger pointing. I've seen you on the board for years, even wondered if I had seen you from the ESPN board before that, not sure. Anyway, this was our first direct interaction, and you say I'm "finger pointing." I'm not going to let it go. Then you say I'm not a man because I'm too thin-skinned or something.

You don't need search privileges: you can go back through this thread. I didn't point the finger at anyone. Please find where I did, or take back your words. From the start, I was saying "DON'T point the finger at the coach this time." I said the first quarter didn't go well and it was just one of those things.

I don't want to be attacked. I at least offer posts with some facts and analysis, which few others seem to be doing.
