Hello Everyone, I was just curious about something. I don't get to see Yao play very often, as I am a Houstonian at school in California, but I saw him play recently and found some footage of him at his Chicago pre-draft workout. Is it just me, or have his arms gotten HUGE compared to back then? I know he never really lifted weights in China. Am I just allowing my optimism to cloud my vision, or have you guys noticed this as well? I take it as a very good sign, as a lot of big men never get big (see Shawn Bradley and Keon Clark). Without getting ahead of myself, is it possible that Yao could be getting really muscular and maintaining his agility and finesse? Could we be a couple years away from having a 7'5" Shaq with a jumpshot? Man, I'm really excited. I know I'm going a little overboard, but Yao's lived up to all the hype so far, so why not pile on some more?
Yao will never be in the Shaq size, it's bad for his game and detrimental for his health. But , you guys can hope that he could develop David Robinson type of upper Body. With his strong legs, he could comfortably support the added muscle masses without risking chronic back injury like big Dave ( he has a relatively small trunk & torso )
I have noticed a definite increase in muscle definition in his arms, mostly the tricep area. Hopefully if he keeps up his workout regimen, he won't be able to be pushed around in the paint anymore.
During the closeups when his up for free throws, you can see more muscles in his arms, shoulders, and chest. Very noticeable improvement. But we all knew Yao was a hard worker and would develop himself and his game.
