Heard a rumor that university line might be built to the very edge of John Culberson's district (richmond and shepherd) just to get something built instead of nothing at all.

The wording on the last vote for rail really screwed this city.

I'm in culberson's district , so that'd be cool. Though I would never use it, it would be good for the plebeians

Actually drove down Shepard today near Kirby and thought I saw some signs for a future rail location, but did not make much of it. Guessing this is the same thing..

That actually wouldn't be a terrible move. Tons of people in Montrose area that could use it. And the Shepherd area is a worthwhile destination itself.

Other than the Galleria itself (and that's dubious), I don't see how a line extending all across Richmond made sense. Construction would be more expensive and disruptive than it's worth. Better off focusing more on commuter lines utilizing dead/available land.

But how are people going to get around once they come in from those commuter lines? You gotta build up the inner city first. And rail construction on Richmond would cause as much disruption was reconstructing the road would anyway. This is a good idea.

This is a false rumor based on a sarcastic post on HAIF (Houston's architecture forum).

While I want an east-west rail line built, it ain't happening anytime soon.

no clue what he wears, only that he responsibly represents Houston's productive, jobs-creating class...the people who live in Memorial and River Oaks

His district includes much more than that. Gerrymandering ftw.

Apparently the source is legit and it's not sarcasm. Would be good news if true.
