Yeah it's stupid. I had said play Garcia over Anderson intily to see what Garcia has but Garcia is way too inconsistent and doesn't offer the all around game that Anderson does. Anderson needs those minutes.
Anybody remember that game in Miami where the Rockets were down by 3 with less than a minute left; Rockets had the ball, and it was inbouded to Anderson? Remember how he basically charged the basket, was given an offensive foul, meanwhile the camera panned to the bench showing McHale with hand over face shaking his head? Anderson hasn't had any considerable playing time since. McHale probably still has nightmares...and understandably. Garcia is a better player than he has played so far with the Rockets. I think Anderson should play more too, but he's erratic at times.
Francisco Garcia has a .374 field goal percentage and a .362 three point shooting percentage. Anderson has a .462 field goal percentage and a .366 three point percentage. Anderson is far more talented in all aspects of the game except maturity. But I would rather deal with him being erratic over getting next to no production from Garcia. Anderson may be even a more talented player than Parsons as well. McHale let's some players learn through mistakes and some don't.
OK, this makes sense. If it didn't make more sense that the team's goals from the DM the GM perspective is to make the play-offs while developing players. Garcia? Makes me wonder if this is a coach v GM thing?
I know i'm in the minority here, but Garcia hasn't given the Rockets all that he is capable of. He's one of those odd players that I've followed over the last 5 or so years. Anyway, despite his games here so far, the dude can be a great scorer off the bench. He is incredibly streaky but he can hit the jumper consistently. I think he's still adjusting to actually getting minutes and playing in a new system. His defense is underrated as well. He may have just been thrown in the trade to make the numbers work, but if we make the playoffs, his ability to hit the J and 3 will be a plus for us. I like Andersen's game too, but I don't think I'm willing to say I trust him on the floor more than Francisco. I'm telling you, Cisco is going to come up big for us this year. He and Delfino are great assets (God, now i'm using that word) for this team.
I think bar some mistakes in that heat loss, jamesnhas been very serviceable for us, I think he will be in this league for a few years yet. I don't know if it will be for us, but I have no problem with him playing 7-10 mins a night to try ease hardens workload. He is no joke
I'm glad you said this. Won't be popular with all the Parsons fanboys. Anderson is a good two-player who I feel will become better than Parsons. That's why I'm okay if Parsons gets a big payday from another team and the Rockets let him go.
Rockets were stupid for not waiving this guy. he's just a one dimensional three-point shooter that can't shoot.
Both are inadequate in what they provide. Anderson many times looks lost out there and has little or no court vision. Garcia is a single purpose shooter but provides veteran stability - streaky shooter who has not been on the good side of the streak recently. At this point, Garcia, in one or two years, Anderson.
