If we got Denver, expect GK to put clamps down on Lin. He's been quoted as saying that Lin is the motor and when he goes, our team goes. I think Denver's depth, home court advantage, and unpredictability make them a bit scarier than Thunder. They have virtually no weakness. The only thing that disrupts their momentum is loss of Wilson Chandler... he is their best scorer off the bench, to have that taken away is a huge loss for them. They're going to miss him, esp when they go cold shooting the ball and need someone who can score.
Spurs are the easiest I think. No joke. They lost TP and chemistry doesn't just "resume" when he gets back... the whole squad has to adjust having him back in lineup and vice versa... not to mention he may return not 100% and not able to play his MVP-caliber ball early in the season. When Ginobili got hurt 2 seasons ago, the 8th seeded Grizzlies swept them...
Houston 6 seed, Denver 3 If both teams finish their seasons strong, this should be the match up we will see. I do not like this match up for Houston, AT ALL. Denver is like another Houston, except they have better athletes, an all world defensive-stopper in Iguodala, who can shut down Harden. And they have high quality depth to run Houston's starting 5 into the ground. The Clippers or Memphis would be a better match up for our team.
Yep. I'm hoping for any team other than Denver. Hell, give me OKC over Denver, it's not a good match up...at all. Will be 4 blow out losses. they do what we do but better. deeper, better coached...
This is starting to become a pet peeve of mine. All this Denver nonsense..."THEY PLAY JUST LIKE US". There have been like 2 Denver threads already... People who think that we should fear them more than the thunder or spurs aren't thinking straight. The rockets don't have a good enough team to get out of the first round, surprised they made the playoffs. But if we were to look at a scenario of winning a series, it would have to be against teams not-okc/SA
I actually like this matchup. The Nuggets are playing well, but what they lack is a finisher. In the regular season, that's fine, but when it comes down to a final play, you need a go-to guy. They have a bunch of good players that mesh well together, but I'll take my chances with Harden. I think our best chance to win a series would be against Memphis, or if age finally plays a factor, the Spurs.
That's because they do play just like us. That is why people are saying it. They do not ever get caught up in chucking up threes, bigger, longer, deeper, and better coached. They are on a streak for a reason, I doubt any team wants to see Denver.
Lawson is their finisher. Either he can create the shot he wants, or creates it for anyone else on the team.
It's an uphill battle against any of the top teams in the West. Don't sweat it. Lose 4-1 or 4-0, just be glad we can play anyone.
We've never even been close enough in any of the Denver games for a finisher to matter. The problem is that the Rockets live and die by the three...Which every missed three will be an easy two points for Denver. It's pretty much the same every way and the Rockets can't slow it down and play half court ball against Denver.
Yea we have? The game was pretty close upto the end. Gallinari just went ape**** on us. That was a WINNABLE game last time.
Historically their home court advantage disappears int he playoffs. Opponents get more time to acclimate themselves to the air.
Agree...we match up far better with the Thunder then we do the Nuggets!! Lets hope that it's the Grizzlies!! Grizzlies= I definitively think we can take down the Grizzlies. Thunder= at least it'll be exciting. Nuggets= Clippers=
That was at home and we had to fight and come back just to get close to them, they always had the lead. Also that game proves that they do have a closer...or closers rather. They have some clutch dudes on that team. We do not match up well to them.
