ClutchCity.net Game Thread: Rockets @ Pistons 3/4/2003

I know the rockets havent been doing much lately but they are still a badass team and they are fully capable of beating the Pistons. I think if Mo taylor and glen rice can play well then if steve has another off game then we can pull it off. I like how mobley has been playing lately. You can see that he wants to win. If we can play a team game then we will win.

10.) 4:21 - 1st Quarter -

Steve Francis drives, and is rejected by Ben Wallace, for the 4th straight time. Rudy Calls a timeout and injects a lethal dosage of botox into his forehead.

9.) 2:19 3rd Quarter -

Ben Wallace stops using his hands and blocks his 9th shot of the game with his hair.

8.) 7:29 4th Quarter -

Cuttino fires a long three, Yao finally realizes no one will ever make a shot and grabs the ball in mid air and jams it home. Rudy promptly benches him and replaces him with Cato.

7.) 11:59 1st Quarter -

Ben Wallace wins the tip, crosses over Steve Francis, makes a fake behind-the-back pass and does a 360 between the legs windmill dunk on Yao Ming... Rudy realizes NBA 2K3 will not solve his gameplan problems and sees Wallace win the opening tip, pass to Richard Hamilton, who fakes out Yao and sets up Wallace with an easy jam

6.) Halftime - Desperate after a 54-39 debacle of a first half, Rudy throws on NBA Live 1997 and sees how Matt Maloney runs the ISO. Rudy tells his guys there are going to play a little different next half.

5.) 3:29 2nd Quarter - Steve Francis sets up a beatufil alley oop to himself of Jon Barry's head, he is called for a technical foul for abuse of skin color.

4.) 5:30 4th Quarter - Rockets start to make last ditch comeback effort, Cuttino Mobley hits a three and slaps his ass constantly as Steve Francis dances and skips... Rockets only down 19.

3.) 8:42 2nd Quarter - Rip Hamilton does a ball fake, Juaquin Hawkins falls out of his spot on the bench.

2.) 11:23 3rd Quarter - Moved by Rudy's halftime speech, Francis drives to the rack and passes the ball to Yao Ming instead of getting rejected by Ben Wallace. But Since Colin Pine had laringitis, all Yao heard was "Turnips make good taco sauce" and has the ball slapped out of his hands.

1.) Down 3 with 9 seconds to go, the Rocks have again faught back when it looked like they would certainly be defeated. Steve Francis holds the ball and waits, Cuttino cuts, Steve finds him, Cuttino goes to the rack and throws the ball back to Steve... Steve hands behind him to Yao, who attempts a 3 pointer... Good! overtime!

I predict us to win every game in the dreamshake prediction game. I know it's not very sensible but I don't care.

 

We need to lose a lot of Mo Taylor so Wallace can't keep his focus on Ming.

If MoT plays well, we win. Simple as that.

Yao's training coach is certainly doing his job! Wish the same can be said about Rockets offensive coach (do we even have one?)

Yao was already pushing Duncan and Robinson around in the last Spurs game. Next season it will be game over for Yao's defenders.

 

moestavern19, this is some funny sh*t. A rare moment of laugh and enjoyment on this BBS and being a Rockets fan.

 

I tell you what to do:

1) find a online betting site and put your bet on Piston;

2) sit back and hope rockets will win.

 

Of course I want the Rockets to win. But it's so hard to say. The first quarter will tell the story. Will the fire be in their eyes? I hope so. But I've been disappointed so many times with the team this year.

This should be a fun game

The pistons are the anti-rockets,
they start a 6-9 guy at center who is all force, and we have 7-5 center who is mainly finesse.
a veteran pf who can actually shoots and plays defense..
a role player at the 3 who knows his role.
a shooting guard who shoots the mid range jumper consistently
and a pg who doesn't make the pass but get the offense going..
and a coach who calls plays all the times..

I gave up watching after the half the other game, hopefully I can finish watching this game

 

Rocks win iA, GS and Phoenix lose iA, can't get any better than that, how we win is another story, on the road, above-.500 team, but they are playing about as bad if not worse than us right now....

 

I hope so

 

Personally, I think a team like the Pistons will give us as much trouble as any other team in the league. Dallas included. They play amazing d and force you to beat them with outstanding passing and perfect execution. We need to keep our composure and carry out our game plan. As for their offense, they play are not flashy and will nickle and dime us for points. They have a ton of players that can contribute 10+ points.

I think Corliss off the bench is gonna be the difference. Corliss is not lethal enough to warrant a double team but has enough moves and bulk to cause havoc for Eddie. I look for him to get 14 pts 5/8 shooting), 7 rebs, 3 assist off the bench vs Eddies 7 pts, 3/9 shooting, 4 rebs, 0 assist and 1 monster 3 pointer.
