Royce White needs to work on his defense to prevent offensive player from driving/slashing directly to his hole #TossedSaladAwerness

I've never seen so many people fall right into someone's hands.

"The guy is an attention w****"....Who is giving him the attention?

He's managed to raise the blood pressure of an entire fan base, and he doesn't even play for the team lol. That's what you call giving someone power.

Reality check...he tells you to bark, and you guys do it. You're the ones that are pissed off while he's behind his twitter handle pitying everyone. Probably even laughing at hypocritical everyone is.

Best to just ignore if you hate his guts and spend your time doing more productive activities. Royce is dealing with his life, while everyone just continues to track all his activites and get themselves pissed off lol.

    Flame on...

I'm not going to judge his mental problems or try to say what he "should" or "shouldn't" be able to handle due to his mental state. Only he knows for sure how much his mental issues are behind all of this, and how much he is using his mental condition as a scapegoat for his behavior.

My problem with it is that he seems more focused on how to live with the problem in a way that makes him comfortable, rather than how to work and eventually get past his problem. I'm pretty sure that at least some of the mental issues are real, but guess what? A physically injured player isn't going to get a long term spot on the roster either if he makes no progress on his physical therapy. Especially if it seems like he isn't even attending therapy.

My problem with him is that he seems like he has zero desire to treat the mental issues. Royce seems to want the Rockets to adjust their standards and work everything to accomodate him in his current mental state, rather than try to make any serious effort to improve that mental state with therapy. Maybe that's just because of his horrible public relations skills, but that's the impression he leaves.

If he wants to retire because of his problem I don't hate him for that. I just don't expect the Rockets to go any further out of their way to accomodate him and don't expect him to ever contribute positively to the team.

    What?

All anyone is doing is posting on a forum and expressing their opinions about it. It's not like anyone is protesting in the streets about it.

He hasn't raised my blood pressure one bit.

IMO He has a major issue with not being successful - He was criticized publicly in the summer league for only playing one side of the ball and he went into that funk. His RGV stint hasn't been very good, and it is throwing him into another spiral.

Strange that he would leave the team after finding some consistency playing in RGV. I wonder why team physicians advised him to do this, especially with the Vipers heading into the playoffs.

That would be great, but if you can't trade the cancer, you cut it out.

And no one wants this guy anywhere near their team.

Who cares anymore, he wasn't contributing and the Rox have plenty of depth at the position. If the Rox management approved it I would think RW would have tweeted that but he didn't.

Wow people coming down hard on him. If the team doctor really recommended he return to Houston I don't see what the big deal is. That was the whole point the Rockets conceded before.
See what happens this summer. The man may never play in the NBA but there's no reason for people here to go nuts over this minor news. You guys just love bullying someone who has an opportunity we'd all kill for. Get over it.

I don't think his passion for the game was there and they basically sent him home to go find it.

I doubt he works out while in Houston - just doesn't have it. I doubt the Rockets make a move until they have given him every chance to succeed and then void his contract to be on the best solid ground. That's why they are being quiet.

I really don't get what the uproar is about?

Maybe the physician thinks his skills are fine and he would be better served working on conditioning.

Think this is blown out of proportion.

When you quit on your team because you are upset about heading to the bench and blame it on mental health issues, it's a big deal.

Yes, understand not wanting him around the team. But you can't just waive him and eat the salary...at least not right now. Not until you know if you can trade him for value and not until we have made our off season moves.

And the whole idea of voiding his contract....is a last ditch resort if we need his cap space...and only if the NBA agrees that even if a court overturns the decision based on medical grounds that his contract will not go back on our books.

We know as soon as Royce's contract is voided that he is going to sue. It's a given. And that's another reason why I personally don't want to see his contract voided. Why give the guy the opportunity to be a ground-breaker for mental health when he has been such and absolute butt? I don't wanna see that myself. It creates too many problems. If we don't need his cap space and we can't trade him for value, I'd rather see him rot on his couch for another year, becoming totally irrelevant and unable to do anything about his situation except go back to RGV. That is the most efficient way to deal with the noise that he has created and to give no credence to any possible landmark litigation against the league. Let him rot.
