McCain was by some metrics statistically the best nickel cb in the league in 2011 so your assertion that Allen was a better nickel corner in 2011 is wrong. Also Allen was not our nickel corner. He shared the outside #2 corner role with Kareem. McCain had a tough season last year but the entire texans secondary was worse last season except for kareem so he gets a pass (just like JJo).
what an above-average yet slightly inconsistent 5'9" nickel corner should make. Good signing by Rick Smith. Now we can focus on safety in the draft.
Not sure if you know but they need fans to fill seats. I'm guessing you didn't get the memo. If fans aren't excited, they're not going.
No one's going to cancel their season tickets because they didn't sign Ed Reed before March 20th.....
Never say never. See: Oilers, Houston. But yeah, the Texans have sold out every home game. Their sellout streak is easily the longest of any Houston professional sports team past or present. They're not going to have any trouble in the foreseeable future.
I wonder if the recent wins have bought the team some time (by improving a lot and getting "good") or if the general fan base is filled with the entitlement now that ~2/3 of the Texans part of this forum seems to have.
Wasn't trying to be (completely) snarky with the post. I'm actually curious if winning has somehow made it more plausible that the sellout streak will end because expectations have been raised, and failing to meet those expectations might keep people away. It would just be interesting if you could say that winning hurts the team's longterm fan acceptance (unless they keep winning at an elite level) in a way
Forgot we haven't sold out every game since the first one. 3 winning seasons in 10 years 80 sell outs. You do the math.... Houston lost their team once and they won't ever let it happen again.
I don't remember the Oilers having problems selling out their games until they played the lame duck season at the end.
