Jeremy Lin is a quality player - except on the 2nd half of a back-to-back.

All those LOFs saying Lin needs more minutes needs to see this thread. He's clearly a young player that needs to work on his conditioning, although I think this season he's gradually improved especially to the adjustments to the new offense (high octane/fast paced/energy exerting) and the knee injury.

I thought you guys were complaining that Lin doesn't get to do enough and just sits at the three point line? Now he does more than anyone else and takes a beating in the paint?

I've been saying this for weeks now, nice to see the stats back up my theory.

If he has stamina issues now as a 24 year old by the time he's 30 he's gonna need 3 days rest to play like a nba player.

...while being happy to let Lin and others to carry the defensive load. Lin and Parsons are the only one that bring it on both ends.

Actually the LOFs do think so. It's the LOHs who are trolling and pretending to be fans that write that.

You are using another database (career data vs 1 year data) for the comparison, gosh, is this statistic 101?

look at the # of Deron Williams and Chris Paul on their first year of NBA career:

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3930/splits?year=2005&type=Fielding

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3929/splits?year=2005&type=Fielding

younger people (age 20-30) have more explosiveness and less stamina than older people (age 30-40) is a fact. Stats wise, if you play long enough in NBA it will even out, therefore you can't just everyone's career # into comparison because they are at different stage of career.

I just looked at the links you posted and Paul and Williams are pretty even on days with 0 rest and days with rest. What was the point of posting that?

well, to answer that I need you to tell me what did you find not "pretty even" on this page first, by your standard.

Then we compare those uneven categories with DWill and CP3 and multiply other NBA PGs by the same method

And you know what? you can do it yourself too, wonderful, isn't it? it is just requires a little bit of problem solving skill than asking "what was the point"

I don't know if it is a scientific fact. But I wouldn't be surprised if it had something to do with Asian genes. I remember Yao used to be gassed fairly quickly.

I know I'll probably called racist. But someone might have done some study on this kind of thing.

Paul and William's stats don't even regress linearly. Matter of fact, they shoot a much better percentage and score more with 0 days rest than with 3+ days rest. Williams scores more points, shoots a higher percentage, and has more assists on days with 0 rest than with 3 days of rest. You'd be reaching to try to conclude that it has to do with their conditioning.

Lin gets worse in every category as he gets less rest and it matches perfectly with the amount of rest he gets.

I won't call you a racist. But I will call you having a bad memory or biased memory.

Scroll down to splits based on days rest.

Bravo Bravo, so you trying to compare strictly on 0 days with 3 days rest, not even looking at the 1 day or 2 day rest?

    Are you a politician, sir?

I wonder if the young vs old thing is tied to practice time. Younger players would tend to need more practice as they are perfecting their skills, while players in their prime wouldn't. Also most coaches typically give vets days off for being old, while younger guys arent afforded the same luxury

The cumulative effect of more practice over the season may be a factor.

Wow, if you're going to post something inflammatory like this, at least link an actual study or anything to substantiate your claims.
