Awesome! Very cool. It was going to come down to Amare vs Yao for February ROM for the Western Conference. Now Yao has 2 ROM wins with Gooden and Amare each previously getting one for the West.

One more step to Yao getting ROY! :D

That's awesome! This will go a long way toward Yao's run for ROY.

On a side note, what are the chances that Drew Gooden will take the Eastern Conference ROM honors for the rest of the season? I'd say pretty good considering the minutes he's getting now that he's in Orlando. I hope he doesn't end up making a run at ROY.

WoW! I didnt realize how well Yao was doing with the Rockets losing and all.

    Congrats Yao!

If you take into consideration that Yao comes from another country, speaks english as a second language, and his learning curve, the Rookie of the Year Award should be NO CONTEST!

Drew Gooden will make a push as will Caron Butler but neither of them will catch up to Amare and Yao as the top guys for ROY in my opinion.

I would not be surprised if Gooden takes the March and April ROM's from the East Conference. Gooden's numbers since he joined the Magic 5 games ago are like 18ppg and 11rpg. Not to shabby. He is really making an impact for them. Just goes to show how STARVED the East is for decent low post players. Gooden is ALREADY a factor down low in the East and in the West he couldn't even get off the bench on his own team!

Well Gooden probably is the happiest rookie in town right now. He doesn't have to face the elite power forwards of the west night in and night out. I bet Yao or Amare would have averaged atleast 19 and 10 if they were playing in the east.
