Here's a question... How should the Simpson's end?

I say movie, but you can't kill the Simpsons!!! They'll never die!!!

Altough, you could become a serial stalker and kill James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, or any of the voices and that'll pretty much kill the series by itself, if it hasn't with the somewhat piss-poor episodes of the past few seasons.

Although Phil Hartman did go. Gosh I miss Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz.

Anyway, I would think that it would end with them watching some other family on tv, something stupid like that. But, they'll never leave.

It's been a while since the last Itchy and Scratchy damnit!!!

Akbar and his gay lover kill them, or maybe they turn into those weird rabbit things, or they turn into the rabbit things after Akbar kills them and they go to Hell.

They just signed a deal to go through May, 2005, which would imply two more seasons beyond the current one.

The season will probably end with a cliffhanger, which will be completed in the movie, which is released a year after the final episode. That way, they get people's interest in the movie. Smart marketing.

 

I think they should have some kind of spinoff...like Bart's family after he's old and grown up.

 

I agree with spinoff but nothing to do with the main characters.

Remember the episode of spinoffs. I think a Wiggum/Skinner detective agency in New Orleans would be hilarious. Throw in Willie and an occassional appearance by The Simpsons and I think Groening's got something.

I think a spinoff is the way to go with one of the side characters.

 

If it doesn't have Moe, I'm not watching.

BTW, I still think that the episodes get better the more you watch them. RM95's Girl and I must be the only two people who still think the show is hilarious.

 

It will end with Marge being taken up in a helicopter after leaving Homer...and as the helicopter pulls away, it will be revealed that Homer, who previously had been unable to say goodbye to Marge, had instead spent his time spelling out, in rocks, " Goodbeer"....

 

End? Wh...Wh... What do you mean, 'end'???

Argh. If they've got to go, then I guess they'll have to be abducted by aliens again...

 

They all walk off the set and into the real world. Then they go their separate ways. (Homer of course ends up at the erotic cake shop).

 

I think Bongo should go nuts and kill everyone!
Then end the series with a Life In Hell cartoon and Bongo being scolded, sitting in his room, locked up.

 

Like others in this thread, I think there should be some sort of "Life is Hell/Work is Hell" reference at the end of the series. My idea: Homer finally causes a meltdown at the power plant, and all the mutated survivors of the nuclear aftermath come out with white skin and bunny ears...

... except for one bunny, who only has one ear. Right before cutting to the credits, this particular bunny looks around at the chaos that is Springfield and utters one final, frightening word... "D'oh!"

 

I think a full length animated movie would be be best official way to end the series, or they could also put some kind of crazy spin on it and have Homer end up on Futurama.

J/K, I love the show. Actually, some of the older and classic episodes don't seem as funny to me as the newer ones. Homer just always cracks me up as he continues to get dumber.

What's the status of Futurama? They showed a new one last night, but I have a feeling they are done after this year, which sucks. Watching the reruns on cartoon network almost every night reminded how damn funny that show is. I think it's because they took the idea of how homer says funny quotes to the extreme by making Fry, Zoidberg, Bender, and the Prof do the same thing.

 

Maggie has talked and everything else has been done before, except the political stuff which the simpsons use. I'd say a good North Tacoma(that's the right state?) salute would be good. Aussi, I think the simpsons should just uh, man I don't want the simpsons to end...

 

I think a cool ending to the Simpsons would be for Homer to help an evil super-villain take over the entire Eastern seaboard with a huge weapon of mass destruction, with the villain thanking him by giving him the Denver Broncos....
