Going for the gusto (& no pitching): Shawn Green & Brian Giles Unleash your fury, Mighty Curmudgeons!
Yeah because you could do what people in one of my leagues did last year. At the end of the season they started dropping pitchers everyday and picking up other pitchers so they would have a full array of starters each day. That way they maximized the points they got by starting 5 pitchers each day(35 starts per week) whille everyone else kept the same starters and only got 10 starts per week.
Well, maybe we should take a vote. One, I just think if there's a limit on the number of games played for batters, then there should also be some sort of limit for pitchers. Two, I think it gives an advantage to teams who have better pitching staffs than batters. And three, a team with worse pitchers can still outscore a team with better pitchers simply by making all of their bench players pitchers and taking the time to reset their lineup every day. It just seems kind of cheap to me. Ok, I've made my case. I vote Yes for inning limit (eventhough I'll probably lose).
OK, I'll take Beltran. Good point about picking up and dropping players towards the end of the year. I'd rather it be games played for pitchers though, instead of innnings pitched.

Oh crap -- people do that in the Swirve Leagues and its annoying as hell. If it stops people from doing that, I say go with an inning limit.
My vote is to keep the inning limit. It's not a huge issue - unless you planned on some of the tactics described by Castor (and that's just plain dirty!). If you keep the same lineup (barring injuries, etc.) you should probably have no trouble staying under 1250 innings.
As much as I hate it, you gotta go with the inning limit. It's tough to do it by games because you have to take into account the fact that closers will play many more games than starters. So I vote to keep the innings limit.
I am going with the Oski formula of drafting and I am going to take Jim Thome. I will also put up a draft chart on the first page. It will hopefully be easy to read so that you can see who has been picked. RM95 I am going to edit your first post and put the chart in there so that you or I can edit it.
It's not so much a formula as it is a lack of decisiveness. Anyways, I probably have the best utility player in the league.
With the something something pick in the draft, the Arsonstarters draft Japanese sensation Ichiro! . . . As for IP rule, I vote for it. I've seen to many sneaks who add/drop pitchers like a madman at season's end in my years of fantasy baseball participation. It is only fair.
I agree. I think we should have an inning limit although I have no idea what the standard is. Does Yahoo provide a default? Also, a minor request. When we make our picks, can we assign a number with our selection so we have a running tab of where we are: 30. Hakeem Ruth
