LOL! He ignores the fact that most of the team has been total garbage for a majority of the season. Oh well haters gonna hate...
Two games this year but somehow this happens anytime Kobe sits. Eg, Bynum's 30 rebound game and a blowout in San Antonio last year, or the time they finally won in Portland after years of futility, the list goes on. It just seems weird that since Kobe is so great that they always do well without him. How can this be? when LeBron, Duncan, etc sit, their teams suck.
I know that's so weird that they just sucked all year and all of a sudden now they are good? I just can't fathom what has changed.
They have been winning since the all star break with or without Kobe. They struggled early when Nash/Steve Blake missed a month and half because of injuries and CHRIS DUHON/Darius Morris were starting. But arguing with an moron like yourself can only get so far.
Spurs are winning without Tony Parker, and they beat OKC in blowout fashion few days ago. Tony Parker sucks.
Lol don't even bother. It's just a waste of time. This guy will even argue that he doesn't hate Kobe.
Well yeah, I saw them struggle and get some ref help to win games against championship contenders Portland, Dallas, NOH, Atlanta, and Toronto. I remember Kobe having some amazing quarters where he had to hit like ten shots in a row just to keep them alive in the waning moments, and I remember him getting a lot of credit for that. But now I'm seeing them comfortably win games, including one in Indiana against a Pacer team that is excellent at home (and beat the Kobe-led Lakers on the road earlier this year). There were no heroic comebacks or one player hitting huge shots down the stretch.. just good, team basketball with many contributions. I guess the coach must have changed something up in the last two games? Weird...
Could be .. I wonder what the Spurs record without Tony is vs. with him. I know this year it's def. worse. All-time, not sure. Kobe, on the other hand, well, his teams ALWAYS do great when he sits. Weird....
But what about their statment wins against Utah, Thunder, Celtics, and Bulls? Oh, I forgot those don't count
Its interesting that Howard still only got 6 fga even with Kobe out. I know he shot free throws but I would think he would get the majority of the shots.
I hope you are right because the truth is that this Laker team terrifies me the way they are playing. They have always had all the talent in the world and if they play an inside-out offense with their many capable wings (something they can do all game once Gasol returns), they will be a tough out (and my Clippers may very much be the victim of that in a potential 3/6 battle). Imagine if Kobe were to return and just fill in as a better Jodie Meeks. That is scary. However, given Kobe's penchant for gloryhogging, I'm optimistically thinking he won't be satisfied in this role (even though the team would be damn near unstoppable), which is great for the rest of the league. Hero ball is one of the easiest things to gameplan against.
I presume you mean against the Bulls? And yes, when Kobe plays the Jodie Meeks role, limiting his shots and ball domination, the Lakers play well. In that game he was an acceptable 7/16 and, as a consequence, all the other Lakers got looks. In other games this year, he's more like 12/30 and the Laker offense looks terrible (but Kobe looks "great" if those games involve miraculous last second shots). It's not rocket science, man. Just move the rock and take advantage of the talent on your team.
