I dont know what is more frustrating.....

Making the playoffs and losing 0-4 or not making the playoffs and wondering for 6 months what went wrong and what we need to change.

Dallas, San Antonio, LA.... they are all miles away from this team as evidence of the way they can blow us out of the water game after game with any number of no-names stepping up and getting 20 pts on our once solid - now total **** defense.

"We are a young team" - This is true, but it still doesnt make it any less frustrating.

    :(

Of course not making the playoffs. Don't forget that we need to give our pick to Memphis.

I don't know what it's going to take to get this team to play TOGETHER!

We have some good talent but alot of it is wasted, dribbling and dribbling and dribbling the ball...

I'm even seeing Yao starting to dribble the ball more...

    I'm skeeerd.

I hate that the best team in the league made us look 'Rookie'.

I hate that the veteran guard this organization chose to mentor Francis was Mobely.

I hate not knowing if we're a playoff team or not.

I hate waiting to turn on the Rockets game until the fourth.

This Rockets team is bad for my mental health.

    Go Rockets!

Zone D's are killing us!!! Its time to develop a new offensive system, because the status quo just is not working. If it does work, it is not on a consistent basis....

I dont understand why we have to wait for the shot clock to go down to 4 seconds before we start a play.... Is that designed??Do they have stats for the year on number of shot clock violations for a team?? I think we probably lead the league in that department.

What's the matter Drew? Is the Rockets overrated defense and offensive selfishness starting to get to you?

    ;)

Seriously, I feel your pain, bro. There is no excuse for a team this talented to be losing at this rate. We should be a legit 6th seed at least, but we're about to be overtaken by the Golden State Warriors of all teams.

Vets wont cure the problem! Because you are not recognising the problem......................... The problem is this team going to be Guard dominated or Center dominated? When you decide what is the answer you ask........................ Do we have the correct personel for that type of teamwhen when you have concluded then you................. Adjust the Roster accordingly!!

Selfish and/or teamless basketball is a contagious, virulent disease.

The title of your thread sounds like we need to do a trade with the Cavs for D. Miles.

There's plenty of reason to be optimistic about this team. We have series leads against the Lakers where we could of been 3-0, we have a 2-1 lead against Sactown where our first game against them we got whooped by over 20 points, but have beaten them soundly twice, once with Webber, & Bobby J. We've shown we can hang with the best. It's not lack of talent, just consistency. That is part of being a young team. This is a time of growing pains where Yao is getting a lot of touches, and is producing well, but at the expense of the up tempo style of play this team used to be known for. Wanna know why the Rockets whooped the Mavs last season by over 20+ points? We ran them to the ground. Yao is a great player, but more of a halfcourt player then our current up tempo style of play is. This is a time of transition where our guys are trying to implement both styles to the point where we run a fluid offense. But the thing that really kills us, is when we get on a run, and create momentum, then ruin it all by a lousy turnover or substitution. In a game where we could of been 4 points down, but get the ball turned over by a Francis over dribble that runs off his foot, or a blindsided Yao strip that bounces to the opposing team, then ends up being a 7 points deficit instead of a 2 points deficit, those are what kills us. Cut the turnovers down, and this team would have atleast 5 or 7 more scoring oppurtunities.

    Uhh no. No optimism.
Really. It isn't too pleasant either way.
We can make the playoffs and have the pleasure of knowing Pheonix and Golden State didn't.
    And we did.
But it won't be too happy when we get embarrassed by the Dallas Mavericks and swept....... and lose by an average of 18 points per game.
But if we don't make the playoffs....that would be terrible too.
They shouldn't be WONDERING about what is wrong. They should be trying to solve the problem. NO VACATION. They should be practicing every single day. :)
We have a really good team....but man we look terrible. Hopefully Rudy won't be like Alvin Gentry or John Lucas or the guy Terry Stotts replaced. :)
We have so much talent. We just aren't using it. And we need to make a few roster changes...and add a couple of shooters.

ALSO. Yes. VETERANS ARE VERY IMPORTANT. Ginoboli just didn't get all good from sitting on the bench. He has a lot of oldies who can teach him how to play. Their team is delicious. I mean...they have a bright future. Sure....they are old as crap...but once the oldies retire..they will still have Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Stephen Jackson, Manu Ginoboli, a replacement for David Robinson...and they'll find another Bruce Bowen. Their team is very well controlled and mature. :( Veterans help a lot. We don't have any.....except for Cato and Rice. AHHH Also....they have a good coach and good system. They look good...

This is not good. Yao should be surrounded by smart team players, not dribblers (is it even a word?)

London's has a very good point. It's not so much about the teams' record against the playoff teams in the west(pretty superb if we take out Dallas). Its about the inconsitency in players from game to game and our lack of preparation for the lesser, lottery teams. I blame mostly Rudy for the lack of preparation, and also the lack of discipline he emphazises. You can tell at times the players' don't pay attention when they're either looking at the masscott or the Budwiser Blimps at the ceiling. I actually laughed when I read a post when at the huddle during a timeout, that the players were actually looking at the dancers and even a coach rather than looking at the clipboard. Must've been more interesting in looking at some booty:eek: .
