if they can sign lloyd and still have extra space for reed, use it and pay him the extra he wants. then go draft
Yup, 9 million in cap...if we could somehow nab both players, Im completely cool with that going into the draft. That would make me smile.
I haven't seem him create a lot of separation over the past 2 years. Schaub usually doesn't like to try and squeeze a pass through tight windows. Not sure it'd workout.
McDaniels guy. Do not want. Spoiler He has had 3 of his better seasons under McDaniels. 2010-Denver, 2011-St.Louis, 2012-New England. He did alright in San Fran w/o JMD. I'd still take a look.
For the right price, he'd be worth it. I'd pretty much take any WR right now, with the exception of head cases like TO and Ocho. We still need some speed out there to spread the field for AJ. If we can get Lloyd and draft a speedy WR, our offense would look pretty promising on paper.
I think you guys have forgotten that one Kevin Battlefightin Walter is available! No way we move on Lloyd when Walter is out there just waiting to be scooped up.
Most definitely. We don't have a #2 right now. Lloyd would be great even with this subpar season last season, I'd still take him.
^^^^^ I agree. A draft pick would be a solid slot receiver or #3, but we are in desperate need for a #2.
Why is everyone saying he had a down year last season? Doesnt make any sense. You think if we put Andre on that roster, he would end up with the same numbers he has in Houston? In NE, Andre would have to compete for balls against Welker, Hernandez, and Gronk...no way AJ gets the ball nearly as often. In fact, I find it pretty impressive that Lloyd managed 74 catches and almost 1000 yards. That's what Chad Johnson was supposed to do for them. And someone mentioned he had problems with drops...out of 130 targets, he had 6 drops last season. To put that in perspective, Aaron Hernandez was targeted 84 times and had 7 drops. Welker was targeted 173 times and had 9 drops. In other words, Lloyd dropped a less percentage of balls than these guys. I also dont get the... "If the price is right..." comments. What price is right? If we got every player at the right price, then we'd never have any issues with the salary cap. No team would. Sometimes, you have to pay a little more. In this case, Lloyd is worth a decent amount...I think he should be getting in the 3.5-4.0 million a year figure, at least.
He may not have had a "down year", but it was definitely disappointing. I think any of my fellow fantasy football players can vouch for this, we definitely had higher expectations for him. He was supposed to be the best legit deep threat Brady's had since Moss, many expected a huge year. But he was pretty under used.
Sure, from a fantasy perspective, it may have been disappointing. But, considering all the receivers already on that team, I dont think 100 catches for 1200 yards should have been expected. Example...dont expect Demaryius Thomas to get 94 catches or 10 TDs next season...same will go for Eric Decker. There can only be so many balls thrown around.
You can't just "pay a little more" if you are up against the cap. They are trying to sign Ed Reed and I'm sure some other guys.
