You think Joe can play a little center?

We don't need a 4th center, and even if he could, which IMO he can't, I'm pretty sure he's not going to be coming anywhere for the 1.2 million dollar free agent exception, which is all we have left. And a sign and trade isn't possible either, because for that to happen Minnesota would have to have the room to sign him for more and then trade him, which they can't. We don't have much room for him, and it's pretty much impossible from a financial standpoint. Get him out of your minds.

Joe Smith can play basketball, but he isn't a franchise player. Now that the argument is settled, I say if he is willing to come here, sign the man. Smith is a quality player and could help the Rockets. Smith is one of those players who could have done so much more but settled for what they are. And what he is isn't bad!!!! A solid 30 minute guy.

And playing center may be iffy!! Last I remember seeing him he wasn't that bulked up. But neither is Rogers and he is blowing the other center on the Rockets roster away. A combo of Rogers and Smith. And move Cato to the end of the bench? I'd do it!!!

Cato makes too much money to be sitting at the end of the bench. Smith and Cato and Taylor and Thomas will make a nice combo in our front court.

    Question

Is there any doubt that the Heat have the big inside edge on acquiring Mr. Smith?

    Answer

    No Doubt At All!

    Question

What are the chances of the Rockets getting Smith?

    Answer

The chances of us acquiring Joe Smith, is slightly greater than the chances of Cato developing a consistent 16ft jumper. That is less than zero to slim.

Joe Smith: A nice addition to a Rockets roster. A price presently beyond our abilities no matter what could be configured.

Didn't he average only about 9ppg last year? I know his average has fallen off every year since he came into the league.

    We don't need Smith.
