Trade a 1st round and 3rd round this year and 2nd and 4th next year for Larry Fitzgerald. Cut Schaub and let TJ Yates take over.
don't think you're serious... ussually I wouldn't respond to you in particular maybe I am just bored? but it would be a $20MM cap hit this year by my calc. about $10MM hit for each player so yea, not very likely somebody else worth mentioning?
Build through the draft.. What happened to posey? That's his name right? The guy who caught the td on the ground against NE... I really think our defense should be the the main focus in the offseason because that gives us a chance to stop teams like NE (last year team) or broncos.
Yes...you build through the draft. But this is a team that has built...now you're looking for pieces to supplement what you've built to put you over the top. Rookies don't ordinarily play that role.
I'd be happy with this bloke at 27. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/oTJjRlGOCjk?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I understand that but rookies in the first round or second or third have been doing some great things for their teams. You never know. Russell Wilson is a prime example. There are so many receivers and they can come in and catch the ball. That's their job. Our issue might not even be the receiver spots as much as a tough QB and Coach.
Typically the learning curve for rookie WR's is steep. I'm not saying we can't get lucky...of course we can. But you don't want to go all in on "lucky."
i like hopkins, he has hand slike jj watt size.. these are the guys that eventually beast. huge hands...
Wilson is a 3rd round pick that won the starting QB job. Rookie QBs and RBs have the ball placed in their hands a lot to make plays hardly a fair comparison. It takes a while for most receivers let alone young ones to adapt to the NFL or a new team fast enough to make impacts. They have to build a rep with the coaches, the quarterback and learn to beat coverage at a different level then most. TY Hilton and AJ Green are two WR that managed to do well their rookie years but they both had rookie QBs that were learning right along with them and had no real pressure. Can anyone name a rookie WR that helped lead their team deep into the playoffs? It isn't common, if this team wants to make a legit playoff/Super Bowl push it would be foolish to waste a late 1st round pick expecting a rookie WR to play great. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick but their are bigger holes even with the lose of Kevin Walter on this team they should try to address.
I would like him also. He's tall and has speed. Not the best route runner, but he's still young and improving.
Yeah, not at WR. I'd be more excited about a mediocre journey man free agent or someone with upside like Vincent Brown than I would be a rookie WR.
So do the best WRs usually take 2 - 3 years to develop? How about Dez Bryant?.. We already have a go to guy in Johnson.. we need someone who can take the attention away from him.. We also have a good catcher in Daniels but his blocking is not so elite (I think).. So if these receivers fell to us.. who would you take a chance? Tavon Austin, Keenan Allan, CORDARRELLE PATTERSON, Robert Woods, Justin Hunter, DeAndre Hopkins.. (All projected first rounds from what i read.. most have us taking Deandre hopkins)
