Yao's rebounding rate would have been much higher if he didn't need to spend that much energy on scoring and defense. He was asked to do pretty much everything as a center and he didn't quite well.

Real life isn't an RPG, guys. D-Mo can probably increase his strength quite a bit without affecting his speed/mobility.

Strength training is different than weight training. What DMo needs is not adding additional weight. He is a good size. He just need to tone up those muscle so they can be stronger.

I agree. His core & lower body strength are going to be key. Buldging biceps really dont serve a purpose in basketball, and if anything actually that kind of bulk can hamper your flexibility. Basketball players should look more like a gymnast than a body builder.

I've notice that his posture isn't the greatest in the world, and he has a tendency to slouch over quite a bit. Something that is pretty natural for a human that large to do since chairs and cars are typically made with 5'8" people in mind. It also makes him look much shorter than he really is.

Actually being extremely tall is detrimental when it comes to rebounding. It is much easier to rebound when your 7 ft as opposed to 7 ft 6.

Him adding about 10-15 lbs of muscle isn't going to turn him into Karl Malone.

He'll be okay with some added bulk.

All the evidence points to the idea that you can never really improve your rebounding rates by a significant amount. That's why good rebounding translates from lower levels to higher levels while things like scoring or assists don't.
Guy will never be a good rebounder but that may be fine. If the guy wasn't rebounding a ton at lower levels what makes anyone think he will suddenly figure it out in the NBA?

Non of the best rebounders in the last few decades are even 7 ft. Charles Barkley, Kevin Love, Dennis Rodman, Dwight Howard, Reggie Evans.

That doesn't mean he wasn't slow in the NBA. He moved well for his size, unfortunately, he wasn't playing against others of his size. He played against smaller and quicker players.
