    I did not see that.

What I can clearly see is that you have faith in McHale and believe his success in the future, which I serious doubt because of his reluctance to take his own responsibility.

The funny thing is that I have never seen McHale admitted his own problem even once. However, the bloody truth is that he is not perfect, as everyone of us.

Then it would be unfair to him. Let us all be more rational.

The leadership role becomes exceedingly difficult if that happens. Everybody needs to own up to mistakes but it is very difficult for a team to follow a leader who is unsure of his decisions.

Many people on here probably have never been in any sort of leadership position and just talk out of their ass.

I wonder why Mike Woodson actually got more respect from both his players, especially Melo, and the Knicks fans after he said this one is on me.

    Human psychology is really interesting.

I never said nobody should, owning up and saying a game could have been because of you is understood, but the majority of CF expect him to come out and be like "My rotations weren't good.."....

do you the problem with that?

oh and I forgot to add with a young team its much more different, you do have to have that semi-dictatorship attitude since the young fledglings can stray either way easily. With a team with a bunch of vets, you want to have a player's coach, since they already know what it takes to win. Hint Hint* why the rockets fired a HOF coach right when they were about to develop their players...

I actually see FO giving him the boot when a legit team is assembled though, kind of sad tbh.

No, you get that handle because you claim that he bears NO responsibility for our great offense, yet you claim that no one bears any responsibility beside him for our ****ty defense... Must be fun living in black and white land.

The real reality is, if there weren't bias against McHale because of a plethora of LOFs and MOHs, the queue for giving him COTY would circle the world a few times over, assuming people got to watch the other team's broadcasts, and listened to what everyone in the league has said about the job he's done.

But you probably played high level basketball right? Oh wait.... Just stfu already and quit acting like you know **** about basketball because of "in-game" adjustments. Did you praise him for how they guarded David Lee or Dirk Nowitzki with out-of-the-box schemes? Nope. So shut, the, ****, up.

I understand what you mean, but I think McHale would be able to find the right words to say if he really wants to own that responsibility. Hear how concisely and artfully Woodson say it?

I have heard great leaders say to his men "When there is any credit, it's yours. When there is any fault, it's on me," or something to that effect. The net result is, his men work harder for him.

And McHale in all reality doesn't have to say it every time.

One every three losses, or maybe....five, would be enough for me. How about you?

But maybe it's a generational thing. McHale is an old school, no whining, do your job type of guy.... And this generation, especially reading comments on this board seems to be a whining, hold my hand, can't take performance criticism crowd.

^This. Everyone who doesn't think McHale is at the very least doing an average job this season needs to read it.

I have been in leadership position for years. And even if you are not, you probably have been a subordinate of a leader.

I can tell you this. Followers appreciate and respect leaders who own up to his own mistakes. The fastest way to lose your people is to put blames on them when they all know that it's your fault.

I am not saying that the players believe McHale has made mistakes. What I am saying is that admitting mistakes does not reduce your credibility as a leader. It's the opposite.

I completely agree with you, but coming forth after every loss and saying .."My rotations coudl have been better" makes it difficult for you players to follow you.

WE HAVE ZERO IDEA WHAT MCHALE IS TELLING OR ADMITTING TO IN FRONT OF THE PLAYERS.

^^This is why this arm chair psychologist bulldung is dumb. People are trying to extract the nuance that is human thought through several minutes of Q&A.
